New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

God thinks the world is worth saving. As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that the world is worthy of redemption. We can and do make a difference in the world. Our caring actions help redeem the world. Together with God we provide necessary assistance, grow spiritually through mission, and demonstrate our belief in God’s ongoing offer of salvation to the world.

—George Hovaness Donigian, A World Worth Saving: Lenten Spiritual Practices for Action (Upper Room Books, 2013)

Today’s Question

How do you participate with God in the ongoing offer of salvation to the world? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
—John 3:17, NRSV

Prayer for the Week

Creator God,
I believe the world you created is worth saving. Give me the courage and strength and the desire to act in big and little ways to make your justice and love real on earth. Amen.
Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.

Thoughts of and prayers for Marcy stopping meds with bad side effects, Julie’s leg and legal struggle, fully vaccinated Jill, her Dad in FL with Becky; David’s progress, Ally’s job search, the needs and concerns of this gathering of believers, and a message of thanks for your thoughts and prayers
while I was separated by moderation.
I think we all, as the Holy Spirit guides us, do what we can to be God’s hands. Doing so unceasingly is our command. We can witness for Christ, but only Christ saves. May those who do not believe have their faith (the ability to believe) awakened, activated. This week’s Bible study focuses on sharing. Adam Hamilton presents this as the 5th trait of a Christian. Thank you for your sharing. Thank You, Lord.

When first I read this title and the first line or so I thought of the creation that is now in jeopardy. I believe the earth is worth saving as well. As more people learn and grow to love God as we do they will naturally wish to preserve and honor His creation.
If you don’t rad the information regarding the authors, I will impart that I do and many of these individuals are fascinating.
Prayers for Ally as she seeks employment that meets her caregiving needs. Prayers for David’s and Lewis kitties continued health improvements.
Prayers for Jill and her new found freedom and Larry and his new found joy.
Prayers for Robert and his small group Bible study.
H is sitting across from me and he has been especially nasty lately.
    Prayers for the UR administrators.

I praise and thank God that God thinks the world is worth saving. The last 3 months, my ministries have been prayer and caring for David. I look forward to the day when I can volunteer with various ministries at our church. I also try to reach out to those who are more isolated than I am with a card or phone call. Thanks so much to all for your prayers for us and our concerns. Know that I lift up you all each day as I pray. Love to all.

Small, consistent acts…texts, cards, kindness shown. Encouraging another, paying it forward. Living intentionally, with gratitude.
Finding a bit more rhythm in the school day. Still quite discouraged by students who remain online and seem to be almost refusing to engage. Cameras off. Grrrr. But – making progress with the few kids who are in the classroom. I am wondering if more will return following spring break. They can make one change, at the 3 week period. I would love to see more of my Year 1 students return to the classroom – as we are getting into the meat of material – and need to keep pressing on until the end of the year.
Wonderfully warm temps, windows open, gentle breeze through Roger’s whiskers. Had quite a bit of schoolwork which needed to be done, but went for a walk after dinner anyway. Just can’t not do it with temps at 70 in mid-March. Catching more crocuses on my drives and walks. Looking at my forsythia – the buds are forming. Again, not a big fan of this bush – but it was a gift in memory of my mom. I am hoping it opens before I leave.
Ally – may you sense God’s leading and guidance for employment.
