FOR WHAT DO WE THIRST? Theologian and humanitarian Jean Vanier points out that to be thirsty in biblical language is to be “dried up inside,” “to feel totally empty and in anguish.” To be thirsty is to long for love, acceptance, and affirmation. In other words, it is to thirst for a heart-to-heart connection with the living and loving God.

Staying connected to God is primary. Wellbeing for everyone comes next.
Efforts to search more diligently, prepare, and make the move are under way.
Hints of spring are coming and with them we hope for a good housing market.
Leaving the state I call home has some tough aspects, but the prospect that both Erich and I will have an easier and more convenient life in the new location are very tempting and necessary. His college education is not being put to use here.
Joan Duffy’s funeral is this morning at 11 am. She was 83.
Prayers for Gloria, Larry, Jill, and Becky; Marcy and Mary, Julie and Megan,
Andrea and Lowell, Connie and her husband, Betsy, Grace, Kelsey and Harrison; all who come to the UR.
I’m still on a shared computer, thankful that I can still come to the UR.
May God’s wisdom and guidance come to the UMC General Conference as the church deals with homosexuality.
May God bless and comfort Joan Duffy’s family!

I have been unable to access this comments section for 2 days, so I have thirsted for this community and the welcome words of support and Christian insight offered here. I agree with Mary, I thirst for a closer and more personal relationship with God. I also thirst for meaning to my life. I feel useless with my limited abilities during the cold weather.
Prayers for Robert as he struggles with the necessary move.
