New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Perhaps transformation is needed in the Advent journey toward Bethlehem. Perhaps we need to see things and people in new ways, to listen to the Spirit through new ears, to hear the cry of the needy as a cry of hope and salvation. During the days ahead, what transformations might be helpful to you and your family? Are there alluring temptations that need to be ignored? Are there sacrifices that need to be made to see Christ’s love in new ways?

Today’s Scripture

Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.

These are thought provoking questions and I believe it is of value to reflect on our old ways or relating to life as Christians and look for ways to change these old habits. There are always ways to make our interactions with the world around us reflect God more.
Prayers for Ally and David and Jeremy. Prayers of praise for better PSA numbers and prayers of concern for Jeremy’s continued urinary blockages. Prayers for Jill and Becky and Larry as Jill worries about Larry and Larry grapples with the changes regarding the new living arrangements now on hold. Prayers for Roger and his diabetes which is still not well controlled. Prayers for Robert and Erich as Erich begins to take action regarding his future. Prayers for Marti and her staff.
Please pray for me as I have not heard anything further regarding the job which Megan now has and I would also have. I am supposed to have a Zoom interview but have not heard anything regarding it. Please pray that I hear something soon and that all goes well. Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.

I ask God today to show me what I need to get rid of: the junk that clutters my mind and heart; the stuff that keeps me from waiting with joy during Advent. I am too likely to focus on the distressing things going on in the world. Lord, help me to wait with joy so I do not miss it and to seek where I may find.
David is still doing physical therapy. Therapist came today and reminded him that if he wants to see progress, he must work. I will try to remind him and therapist suggested I do the exercises with him. This will be good for both of us. We both need to build strength and endurance. I look at these activities as teambuilding. We need that too. Little Jeremy is still at the vets. He had a long-term catheter with bag so he could wear it longer. We saw him yesterday and he was in a good mood and happy to see us. He is eating well and enjoying the spoiling he’s getting from Dr. Valerie and her staff. Pray that he continues to produce good amounts of clear urine and that as we pray and consider the corrective surgery, we will make the right call and be able to pay for the procedure. Praying also for my disability process.
Julie, I’m praying that you will hear soon about this job. Prayers that you are recovering from surgery and feel better. Praying for progress in all the legal stuff. Jill, prayers for your family as you consider the best situation for Larry and that his anxiety about the situation will lessen. Praying for you as you wind down your school term. Praying for little Roger: that his little body will tolerate and utilize the insulin and his BS numbers will come down and that he will feel better. Thanks to all for your prayers for my Jeremy. I pray we can wait with joy during this season. When the weight of the world weighs heavily on our shoulders, I pray we can cast those burdens on Our Lord.

I hope to be able to help dad settle down, to relax into the reality that God knows who the buyer is and when the sale will take place. Dad’s anxiety will not alter either of these two things. I have been encouraging him to pray when he is anxious. I hope he will be able to enjoy the gatherings for Christmas, despite his unsettledness regarding the move.
His youngest grandson invited him, myself, Becky and Don over this Friday evening for pizza and a movie – King Richard – the movie about the Richard Williams’ coaching his star tennis player daughters.
My eye is just on getting through this week. Next week is exams and that should be a nice way to slide into winter break. My eye ventures out a bit further, as my friend and her dogs and I are headed to the beach the day after Christmas. Of course, my other eye is constantly on Roger and the water level in his water dish.
My god son has a basketball game this evening, about 45 minutes or so away. Happily, the staff meeting for today after school was cancelled. I can get home and check on Roger, before I head to the game. The good thing is my god son is playing JV, so the game times are either 5:30 or 6:00.

Transforming is a life long and much needed process. Hopefully I am doing things that help that along. Great news on the better PSA values for David. Prayers for Jeremy and Roger.what veterinary care can do these days is amazing. Hope Larry adjusts to the new living conditions. I am hopeful that FL weather makes things easier for him. Finally finished my model, it is in the being photographed stage with a B&W picture of the station it served in East Swanton as it made its way to Montreal. Getting the photos right is the current challenge. There’ll be a break until after Christmas on whatever model comes next. I need to write the article and send in photos. Bible study today, chapter 2 of INCARNATION. Lots of bible verses, hymn lyrics, stories of faith all helpful during this pandemic. Prayers for Julie’s job prospects. Thank You, Lord for the blessings of this day.
