New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Floundering. Gasping for air. In thick water I can feel but cannot see. Then I sense your voice speaking to me, stirring my soul: “Look up, child. Put your feet on the rock bottom. It is solid ground. Holy ground. Stand up and live.”

—Missy Buchanan, Talking with God in Old Age: Meditations and Psalms (Upper Room Books, 2010)

Today’s Scripture

[God] lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

—Psalm 40:2 (NIV)

Prayer for the Week

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. —adapt. Reinhold Niebuhr, “The Serenity Prayer”

Yes, My child – you are tethered to me and I am the Rock, your Foundation. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion”, says my soul, “therefore, I will hope in Him.” Lamentations 3.
Thank You, Father – for Your abiding presence. You are our strength in our weakness, our light in the darkness, our hope and salvation in our helplessness. Your grace is sufficient for each moment.

One of my go-to scriptures in times of trouble is Psalm 40. Not only will God pull us up out of the miry clayand give us a firm place to stand, God will give us a new song to sing. Help me to sing my new song each day, loving Lord. Dear friends, know that I lift up each of you, that you stay well and safe, find comfort and peace in connecting with God, and take joy from the beauty which surrounds us. I pray for wisdom as we seek God’s will for us and that all of us will sing our God song. Love and peace to all.

God would assure me that he will carry my burdens. His peace will replace all worry and anxiety in my soul. He will place me firmly on the rock which he used to save King david from his enemies. He will make me victorious in the same manner.
Prayers for Jill and Larry and Becky, may they remain safe and healthy and able to share time together.
Prayers for Ally and David, may both gain strength and enjoy complete health soon. May God protect them as they travel.
Prayers for Mary and Lucy Lou, may both have relief from pain and health issues.
Prayers for Robert and his continued social distancing, may he stay healthy and also connected via Zoom.
Prayers for April and her family, it is wonderful how nature has recovered from our abuse these past months while we left it alone and not despoiled its beauty.
I am still quite concerned about h bringing home COVID 19 from Myrtle Beach. Many people have vacationed there and returned to infect others before showing symptoms. I am trying to persuade h to wear a mask but I am considering going to a hotel for 14 days with Megan and the cats.
Prayers, thak you and good health dear UR one and all

I believe God gives us reason to use in making ourselves safe, in other works, God’s rock is at time the wisdom to be able to protect ourselves. When and where to cross the street or stream, for example. This God given gift protects us when we accept it from God.
There are also times when God protects, helps us with the only action our part being faith, trust, in God.
Julie, that is a good idea, hope there are hotels. motels open that would enable that decision.
Thankful for cooler, less humid weather, no need for AC! Daily progress on my models, had a great Bible study Tuesday, Face Timed with my daughter yesterday, hope to again this afternoon.
It’s a beautiful day in the White Mountains of NH, prayers for all the UR family. God is with you. Thank You, Lord.

With God by your side, you are never alone. This sentence caught my eye last night and reminded me that yes, I never have to feel alone, through whatever the day brings, for I have a constant friend and companion, Jesus, beside me, the strength of the Spirit within me, and my Heavenly Father watching over me. This reassured me of His Help and Peace as I slept last night and today as I awake to a new day. And as He did it for me, He also does for each of His beloved children.
Our landscaper has been ill for several days and was going to be tested for COVID-19 yesterday. I pray his test is not positive. I will listen for the mower this morning to see if he is back to work. I talked to him outside last week and we were not wearing masks. I think we were 6 feet away but now I am worried. I ask that you keep me in your prayers that I will not be infected. There are 8 more days until it will be 14 days.
Another reading last night was about how the Psalms are examples of laments. How we can cry out and God will hear us. Sometimes it is just knowing that someone has heard that can make me feel better….not that they can/will fix my problem, just that I have been heard. But with God, He hears and heals, praise The Lord!!
I am lifting up all your names and releasing them to God. I know He hears and will be with us each today. The love of God is without measure.
Blessings on your days, dear UR Family.
