New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

OUR IMPERFECTIONS are not evidence of total failure, defeat, or final death. Rather, they are doorways through which we enter spiritual transformation. Human imperfection invites us to let go of our ego and to live in faith in God’s ultimate love.

Imagine letting go of your balance and falling backward into God’s strong and loving hands. Ask God for faith to do so, and express gratitude to God for promising to hold you in love.

—Tom Camp, The Upper Room Disciplines 2019 (Upper Room Books, 2018)

Today’s Scripture

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.”

Relying on and trusting in God’s faithfulness sees me through so many challenges and difficulties. Expressing myself honestly to Him and knowing on a much deeper level how His Sovereignty is perfect, this too is something I cling to. And, oh His Peace…ever steady deep within. Thank You, Father.
Yes, when we sacrifice our weaknesses, our points of breakdown – these are transformation opportunities for Him. A breakthrough is just around the bend.
Hard to believe it is October. Looking forward to a beautiful Fall – this month has been quite wonderful the past few years…moderate temperatures and breath-taking colors. I want to be sure to enjoy it all.
