Today’s Reflection
God of the earth,
Creator of the universe,
Bless this seed that I plant this day.
For the seed, for the soil,
For the rain, for the sun,
For the miracle of life,
I humbly give you thanks.
For the plant that grows from the seed,
For the life that comes from death,
I humbly give you thanks.
Let me be a caregiver,
Servant of you,
Servant of your creation.
Bless this seed that I plant this day.

Today’s Scripture

Thank you, Ally, for your beautiful post today.. Prayers for your fog to clear and your world to be put aright.
Today’s reflection prayer moves me to think of my father born on a cold November 22 in 1921. He was a seed planter both literally and figuratively. He loved to grow and protect plant varieties threatened in the natural landscape by urban development and local climate change apparent in our mountain environs even in the 1960’s and ‘70’s. He was also a cultivator of hopes and dreams through the love and encouragement he showed to all people. Lord, may I in this life plant even a fraction of the seeds my father did, starting again today as we celebrate Thanksgiving a day early.
