New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

John Mogabgab, a Christian writer, has come to see that success in this world will boil down to a single, simple, and disturbingly profound question: Have I loved well?Truly loving well means different things to different people, but it always involves an element of sacrifice. The Cross reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus made by giving his life for those whom God loved so much.

The difference between life and death. The love of Christ is why we have life. Jesus’ sacrificial love is our example of how to live our lives intentionally and sacrificially. I try to be Christ-like so that others will see Jesus on me. I fall short a lot. I’m thankful for God’s grace.
Lewis ate well las night, but not as well today, but he has eaten on his own. He has come a long way since Wednesday, when we thought we would say goodbye to him. Trying to keep this in mind. He goes back tomorrow for bloodwork. We are praying and believing for progress. David has been diligent about doing his PT homework. I’m very proud of him! . Still trying to keep my focus on what I have instead what I don’t have. Beautiful day here in middle Georgia. Love to all.

Jesus’ sacrificial love, how He interacted with others serves as an example to me. I love Ally’s answer – it has made an eternal difference in my life. I find myself thinking more and more of Heaven – desiring to be there, longing for my true home.
Ally – I will pray for your focus and your fight for it – to remain on the blessings and the good which you do have. Grateful Lewis has rallied. I know you are treasuring this time. I still feel like the 8 months I had while nursing Roger through his diabetes was an absolute blessing to me. His little courageous spirit and unconditional love spurred me on. Glad David is doing his PT so diligently, what a long haul for him. You guys keep at it – God is sustaining you both.
It was good to be in church today. Have missed it the last few weeks.
Had a phenomenal tennis match today, against a teammate from this summer. We had wonderful doubles on our court and we lost an incredibly close match. Couldn’t have been more close actually. I am grateful that I can enjoy the competitiveness of it and not be tied to the result. Good tennis, with good people – where good sportsmanship is displayed. We all hugged afterwards. That’s the way it should be.
Still some beautiful weather lingering here. May have to work on some leaves after dinner.
Making a dent in my schoolwork and letters of recommendation.

Jill, your affirmations comfort me so. Little Roger was a true blessing. He was a little soldier. I know you miss him. I miss hearing about him.
