New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Bless this house, its windows, its rooms.
May those who live here
Know happiness and safety.

Bless this house, its roof, its doors.
May all who enter here
Be welcomed with generous hospitality.

Bless this house, its hearth, its heart.
May light and love
Live in this place.

—Beth A. Richardson, Christ Beside Me, Christ Within Me: Celtic Blessings (Upper Room Books, 2016)

I find the light and love sufficient in my home…me and my kittens – we live comfortably, happily. We embrace the stillness, the quietness. Visitors are not the norm, but we welcome them to our little abode. We have our rhythm and find simplicity a gift.
Yesterday’s gathering at Becky’s was quite small – just 10 people. Usually we have over 30. I rather liked it. All the traditions were there…food, football, cards, a walk near dusk. After the walk, my nephew’s wife put all the pictures and videos from the cruise up on the tv.
Time for schoolwork today. Also, going over to my friend’s to work through a few chapters in the book and visit with her dogs. Nice to have this expanse of time, unhurried.

It curreently is full of light and love with h still in rehab. He is due to be released today but still not allowed to put weight on his leg and with his dementia he continually forgets this fact. It is felt he should remain until cleared to bear weight at which time he will be readmitted for more intense physical therapy. So hoping Medicare Supplement will pay.
