New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Only the Holy Spirit working in us can accomplish the new creation God intends each of us to be. We do not create the pattern of human holiness—it already exists and is shown to us in Christ. We do not make ourselves holy through great and diligent spiritual practice; only God can make us holy. We must be willing to change and open to the work of grace in us.

—Marjorie J. Thompson, Companions in Christ: The Way of Forgiveness (Upper Room Books, 2002)

Today’s Scripture

I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.

No news from Jill that I could find, hope trip to Toledo and tennis matches went well. Continued prayers for Julie caring for H. I have witnessed very similar behavior from a dementia patient, Reach out for help, you need to care for yourself as well. Hang on to POA, it is a lifeline. Thankful David is doing so well, a movie is a good idea Ally, you are on the receiving end of caregiving with that activity. Thankful for kitties at Julie’s and Ally & David’s, they are great companions. Thank You, Lord.

I , too, hope I would be open to any help provided by any member of the trinity.
I spent a good bit of time yesterday out and about with h. I did this because he was to meet with the scam artists and our estate lawyer to rescind my POA and give it to them. He cancelled the appointment and I kept him away from the house in case they showed up to take him to the appointment. I feel certain that even if they went to the lawyer’s they would not receive any information because when I called to cancel the appointmment they would not even discuss with me, his wife and holder of his POA that they prepared, whether he even had an appointment. I pray that I am correct. I currently have his phone and am refusing to give it to him. I intend to cancel the calling plan today and give it back to him then. I feel he has abused the priveledge and Megan found both husband and wife scammer as well as one of their sons numbers in his contacts. I pray this is the right decision.
Prayers for Ally and David and the kitties. May David continue to work hard and improve physically, may Scout and Lewis finally recover completely and may God come beside Ally and lift her up relieving her burdens and stress. Prayers of thankfulness that Robert’s church has approved the certification of a lay leader. Prayers of thanksgiving that Erich is willingly participating in CBT and that it is helping to heal their relationship.

Can I be open? I can try. Right before I read this entry, I prayed to be able to accept the grace God offers and to extend grace to myself. Thanks to you, Robert and Julie for your prayers. Know that y’all are in mine. Love to all .
