New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I BELIEVE THAT GOD offers us nudges in our sleeping dreams, but I believe that we also receive nudges while we are awake. Those nudges take the form of random thoughts that come from nowhere and bid us to telephone an old friend, visit a friend in the assisted living center, pray for a person, send an encouraging note to someone in the community. We do well to pay attention to these seeming bits of random energy and act on them.

—George H. Donigian, In Days to Come: From Advent to Epiphany (Upper Room Books, 2017)

Today’s Question

Where do you sense the Holy Spirit nudging you today?

Today’s Scripture

And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road.
—Matthew 2:12 (NRSV)

New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hope your tablet is repaired soon Julie. Glad to see your cat, Julie, Pearl keeps us on our toes.
Getting used to the new format, had to look around to find the way to post. Yesterday it showed up clearly.
Had a nudge in a dream, will contact a friend who has lots of pain after surgery that was supposed to stop pain. Have nudges on ways to help my son with two projects. Need to send replies to family and friends.
Keeping up with email during Christmas and New Year in an election year is a challenge.
Prayers for the needs of all, thankful for the blessings that come every day.
