New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

EPIPHANY INVITES US to move outward in mission and ministry. I may be guilty of stretching the meaning of the magi’s journey home, but I do believe their return points to our outreach. We do not come to Christ and leave unchanged. Christ touches us, and nothing remains the same. We invite, teach, pray, support, sustain, nurture, assist, and encourage others.

Today’s Question

How have you been changed by Christ? Share your thoughts.

Today’s Scripture

“And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.”
—2 Corinthians 3:18 (NRSV)

Psalm 36:9 – For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.

The sunlight reflecting on yesterday’s snowfall is a beauty to behold this morning. May I reflect the light that came into the world with the birth of Jesus. I have trust and strength through the grace of Jesus’ love.

I pray for my daughter, who is saddened by the estrangement from her father and feels it more acutely at Christmas. I pray for her little family, and for my guidance as mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law.

Prayers for all dear UR friends and those for whom you pray. Prayers for visitors who stop by. May you all have a blessed, restful, peaceful day this last day of 2019. May God’s peace fill your lives.
