New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

My spirit hungers and thirsts for God. My heart desires to be shaped by the Holy One, to be clay in the hands of the potter. I imagine myself as soft, red clay in the strong hands of the Creator of the Universe. I feel the deep dryness within me quenched by God’s abundant living water. My soul cries out with joy that I am beloved of God.

—Beth A. Richardson, Walking in the Wilderness: Seeking God During Lent (Upper Room Books, 2020)

Today’s Scripture

Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.
—Psalm 63:3 (NRSVUE)

Prayer for the Week

Holy One, my body, soul, and spirit hunger and thirst for you. Here in this barren wilderness, fill me with your living water. Shape me into the one you would have me become. Amen.

Living with a self proclaimed unbeliever I can be refreshed by God’s living water. Thank You, Lord.
Our bishop, Peggy Johnson, preaches and serves Communion this Sunday. We are a very small church, blessed to have a pastor, and now a visit from the bishop. It’s quite amazing.
“Awaiting moderation” continues but should end. God’s living water will help refresh that situation as well. Thank You, Lord. Very thankful for a different perspective yesterday during Bible/book study. That certainly was God’s refreshing water. Thank You, Lord.

I think, by allowing myself to be filled with the water of Holy Spirit and the water of scripture and allow Jesus to cover me with love. I ask God to cover all of us here with love. Amen.

Thanks for your prayers Ally- prayers and love to you.
I love the last sentence- “My soul cries out with joy that I am beloved of God”
    Indeed –
I’m trying to find more joy in my life – the fact that I am beloved by God is all I need – I focus on that truth today.
Know that you are all beloved by God –
Prayers for all who come here- I’m really missing Robert and pray that he is well.
A sunshiny but cold day in Chicago after a record warm day yesterday and scary storms last night. God’s peace to all this day.

Taking time to be still, before eating supper – this is how I will quiet myself and place myself before Him, without other distractions. Today was a whirlwind at school, not sure why. Feel like I got nothing accomplished. Definitely need to pause here, reflect and re-focus for grief group this evening.
Lou – same thing here – lots of turbulent weather overnight. Got caught in the rain this morning, jogging. Now extremely windy and cold. Yo-yo weather.
Father God – watch over the faithful here – especially those whom we have not heard from in a while. And, for those caregiving – strengthen them.
