New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

THE ASSURANCE that I am personally known, accepted, and loved by God has not come easily to me. But over the years, as I immerse myself in Gospel stories like the one with Mary, I have grasped the importance of asking God to give me an awareness of this love, not only in my head but also in my heart. Frederick Buechner writes, “If you have never known the power of God’s love, then maybe it is because you have never asked to know it—I mean really asked, expecting an answer.” Almost each day I find myself asking God to open my eyes that I may see the beams of resurrection love around me in the events and experiences of my daily life. By doing this, I have gradually discovered that our belovedness can become an inner knowing that fills our whole lives.

I experience His love through an awareness of Holy Spirit movement in me. Also, through the kindness of others. And through His creation – the beauty of nature. And, of course, His peace – so sure, so present – sustaining me. Thank You, Father.
So grateful for good sleep last night, unbroken, deep and lengthy. And refreshing.
Dad and I are having a “date night” tonight. We will try to have one a week, at least during the school year, when I usually don’t see him during the week. During the summer we will have much more time to spend together.
Prayers for the family here, needs and request spoken and unspoken. Father, draw us nearer.

Connections with people, here at the UR, at church, in daily life, and even with people, who say they are not believers, plus experiences through tough times help me recognize God’s love. Thank You, Lord.

No news yet on the condo purchase, have to send documents again today.
Applying three times has been a tiring experience, thankful for the patience and energy to keep at it. Hope the time, effort, and money pays off. Its been so far so good despite the hills and curves.

Prayers for the people of India and Bangladesh as they deal with the cyclone.
Continued prayers for the flooded areas of the US Midwest.

Healing, peace, restoration, and comfort to Marcy, Julie, Rusty, Sharon, Andrea and Lowell, Jill, Mary, Edy’s Bill, and all in need of this help. Prayers that the UMC will be guided by God and make the decisions that are God alined. I am convinced that a thorough examination of the relevant scripture passages, times and culture, as well as audience, will be helpful in finding the answer.

Hope that Marcy is able to receive and view the videos of Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 as it comes back to action after a very long break.

Prayers for a blessed Sunday, communion is served, and you all have a wonderful weekend. Thank You, Lord.

God’s love is experienced through his people here, family and friends, balanced meals, the ability to exercise, walk, good health, reflect, journal, live well, sleep well, teach, read, listen to music, pray…

Thank you God for enabling us to experience your love in so many ways.

Blessings to all and have a great week ahead!

I experience God’s unselfish love through interactions with other believers, friends and those new acquaintances. The love I have for my family grows As they grow and mature. God’s love for me and those close to me; all here at UR, my church family and my teacher friends.

I have never thought of asking God to allow me to experience His love in my head, heart and being. I will try this. I have known His love several times in the past. There were several times I should have died and yet I lived. The doctors were baffled.
Prayers for Jill and Larry and their close relationship.
Prayer for Robert, may he hear good news today.
Prayers for Mary, may she have a restful and fun weekend.
Prayers for Marcy, may she be well.
