As fundraisers, we must take care of the being part of our lives. This means knowing who we are, knowing our value—no matter what we achieve or don’t achieve. It means having clear values and increasing our self-awareness as we engage people from various walks of life. The journey of fundraising holds unique challenges, and we easily can stumble along the path or get discouraged if we are not grounded in our being—that is, who we most deeply are.
