New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

In stillness we let go of our need for control and acknowledge the only one who is really in control: God. We can just be. We don’t have to be good at prayer or a good Christian; we don’t have to be happy or smart; we don’t have to be successful or good at sports. We can just be. And when we can just be, we learn to rely on God for everything, from our identity to our way of being in the world. The vulnerability of stillness facilitates that divine connection we’re searching for.

Today’s Scripture

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.

Prayer for the Week

God of love, who invites me to this journey with your Beloved Son, open my heart to accept your invitation. Hear my concerns about this journey. Help me to learn the way of the beloved. Let me know I am beloved. In the name of Jesus, who reveals the way to your heart. Amen.

When I finally come to realize that God’s answer to my prayers is exactly that, be still, I feel enormous peace and comfort. Do I go here quickly? No, I am a slow learner, but I am learning and trying to go there sooner rather than later.
I have so enjoyed this week’s meditations in how they are slowing me down to see the wonders of nature, the angels He has placed along my journey, those who encourage me and build me up. I have been praying more for others and thanking God for his blessings.
Tomorrow is Easter, a time of new beginnings!!
Today I am reflecting on yesterday, Good Friday, but mostly I am looking ahead to Tomorrow…fulfillment of God’s promise when Jesus arose!!
Blessings to all, dear NEM Family.
