Today’s Reflection
Each time we step out of our comfort zones and into the messy and sacred world of caring about others, we risk stepping in the confusion of humanity. We may find ourselves asking questions about God and about this world filled with both beauty and affliction. When we share our journeys and questions with one another, our capacities to love and serve with humility, faithfulness, gratitude, and grace grow.
—Rebecca Bruff, Loving the World with God: Fourth Day Living (Upper Room Books, 2014)
Today’s Question
Reflect on the prayer of St. Francis today:
Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
Today’s Scripture
And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds.
—Hebrews 10:24 (NRSV)
Prayer for the Week
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love.

So no question was asked. But I pray for the courage to do the things outlined in the prayer.
To give a concrete idea of my day…
He asked who was paying for “all the work being done out there.” I had him show me this work. At first he said I knew which work since I was “coordinating it.” I said show me. He took me into the entryway and said the restaurant right here. I told him to touch it and he attempted to but of course touched nothing. He looked confused and moved on to “mechanisms” being installed on the steps and on one of the windows. I followed the same technique and he was forced to acknowledge that no such things existed. He then asked what the purpose of “this place” was. I said its our home. He retorted but why do we need it. Sigh.
May I be Your instrument…You define the instrument, the purpose – may I be obedient.
Brilliant sunshine, but I think it is cool out. I am meeting up with my former student – we have been getting together more frequently. I think from now on it will be monthly and we will coordinate our schedules each time. We are meeting for dinner at a new restaurant that opened outside of a mall nearby. I am going to run a few errands prior to meeting her there. Grateful for how our relationship has grown and commonalities we share.
When resources arrive earlier than expected, I’m thankful to take advantage and make sure important bills are paid. It was a nippy 25 with a breeze on the way to the post office and delivering a payment for services. Have the bills to be paid lined up, accounting done. Thankful that coordinating with Erich on finances went well.
Prayers for Julie caring for h who obviously is in another dimension. Your approach was excellent. He has no idea how fortunate he is to have you caring for him. Thankful for the continued meetings Jill and a former student are having. Anneliese is on a med that she has taken before, she’ll get a lot of sleep and less pain . Hopefully something better can be found that restores a more normal life. Preparation for Communion during Palm Sunday is being made. Monday Pearl has her checkup at the vet and I am off to see Jenny, Chris, Willa, and Oona. Continue in the faith , be thankful for God, the Father, Jesus, His Son and our Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit. Lenten Blessings.
Some car maintenance tomorrow morning.
