New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

THERE IS AN IMMENSE DIFFERENCE between knowing something with our heads and knowing something with our hearts. This is especially true when it comes to the different truths of our faith. For example, it is one thing to affirm intellectually that God is love, but it is a totally different thing to know inside ourselves that God loves us personally with a love that will never let us go. For many of us, the longest journey in our faith walk is for our doctrine to travel from our heads to our hearts. When that happens, we begin to know God in firsthand, vital, and transforming ways.

The words of Trevor Hudson above certainly pertain to me. Jesus became my Saviour when I was in grade school and much head knowledge and “good living” followed. But it wasn’t until I was in my thirties that my heart caught up. Since then – there has been a relationship and considerable growth. Now, I experience His love and the past several years I have experienced His peace…which passeth understanding. So grateful.
Met one of my former coaches for dinner last evening. Such rich conversation – she is a Believer as well. Had to postpone dinner several times the past few months with everything going on with my folks. She was such an encouragement to me, listening to what I have gone through, my concerns for my folks. Grateful for her and the impact she has had on my life. Stopped by my parents on the way home – and mom was dressed for the second day in a row! Sitting up and pretty into the basketball game on tv. She will get dressed today – because dad is taking her to her hair appointment. Even talked a bit about Mother’s Day plans. Her appetite seems to be improving.
Andrea – we huddle around you here in prayer regarding your daughter and grandson. May God comfort you in your sorrow and renew this relationship, and grant you wisdom leading forward.

Good news is worth repeating. “it is one thing to affirm intellectually that God is love, but it is a totally different thing to know inside ourselves that God loves us personally with a love that will never let us go.”

Have had a long spiritual journey, it has gotten stronger over the years and there have been noticeable, recognizable, meaningful, and life changing events, happenings, or experiences. The one I remember best and think had the most impact happened over a 10 + week period in ’98-’99. It was my version of Wesley’s Aldersgate heart warming. Very thankful for that. Am sure I wouldn;t be here on the UR without it.

Thank You, Lord, Gloria and Larry are adjusting well to their new situation. It is such a blessing, a relief. Beyond our understanding, but we are able to appreciate it. Thank You, Lord.

Prayers too for Jill and Becky as they too are blessed through others by Your love, Lord.

Thankful for a wonderful day yesterday. Bills paid, made it to the gym, had a wonderful supper, and made progress searching for model railroad layout buildings.

Prayers for Anneliese who had many episodes yesterday, took extra medicine, and finally felt better.

Erich waits patiently for the start of his job.

Takeout turkey dinner tonight from church.

    Lots to be thankful for.

Yes, Andrea, I pray for you and your daughter. Slow and easy, full of love and patience, and with an ever growing grasp of understanding I pray God will see you and your daughter to a peaceful resolution.

Bkessings and prayers for Julie, Lou, Ken, Betsy, Connie, Francesca, especially Marcy and Rusty, as well as all the UR family. Peace be with you.

Connecting what we know of God in our minds and the love we have for Him in our heats IS often a major leap of faith. Thankful for faithful friends to help support me and guide me in my journey.

Beautiful day after rain and storms yesterday. Many chores and some volunteer jobs today. Thankful to be able to help at our local animal shelter. Praying for Andrea Robert, Jill, Marcy, Mary, Julie and others who visit here daily and others who have in the past. May God bless your day with opportunities to show your faith.

I continue to struggle with the concept of giving my worries to God totally. I continue to worry as I have witnessed those who have greater faith suffer terribly despite prayers and giving their concerns to God. I am aware God does not promise we won’t suffer, only that He will help us through our suffering.
Prayers for Jill, Becky, Larry, and Gloria. Prayers that Gloria continues to improve in spirit.
Prayers for Robert, Erich and Anneliese. May Anneliese Hve a better day.
Prayers for Betsy as she is out and about today, may she be safe. Prayers for the animals in all shelters that they may find homes.
Prayers for Mary and her parents. May you have strength to meet all of your many responsibilities.
Blessings and prayers for and thank you to all of the UR family
There is nothing stronger in the world than gentleness.
