Today’s Reflection
Because we are human, we experience happiness and sorrow, joy and suffering, times of welcoming new life and mourning life’s passing. God’s child, Jesus, experienced human life just as we do. And we have, as he did, the gift of God’s presence with us in everything we face. Whatever we encounter, God is with us.
—Beth A. Richardson, The Uncluttered Heart: Making Room for God During Advent and Christmas (Upper Room Books, 2009)

I am aware of His presence each day – thankful that He sees me through. I’m most aware on my darkest days when I turned to Him. For many the Christmas season is not a joyous time filled with family – many are alone or feel alone- God hold those people close on these days. God is nearer than our closest breath. That always gives me comfort.
I enjoyed the day with two of my children but part of my heart was sad missing my third. Some difficulties with my youngest on Christmas – I’m left feeling that as hard as I try I can never do enough. It was an interesting day with warm weather. A lot of past reminders that were unsettling at times but I made it through. Today my mother and brother come to visit – I pray that goes well. Prayers for all – especially those who are traveling and for those who feel alone or who are alone – God is near.
A Christmas Eve with no service attended, no reminders that the reason for Christmas is Christ not Santa Claus, Hope I can go to ZOOM for todays’ service. No one else here will worship the Lord. Yes, there is love expressed here, I’m thankful for that.
Prayers for all of you. Thankful for Lou’s post. Prayers for your youngest. Lou.
A big birthday bash today for Oona who is now 6.
Home tomorrow, hoping for good traveling weather.
God truly is with us, sad that not everyone sees, acknowledges that.
Thank You, Lord for Your presence.
