New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

GOD DOES COME to us knowing our exhaustion, but instead of pity, the Lord offers bread and water. Life can be demanding and sometimes devastating, but more than rescue, God wants to revive us with what we’ll need for the coming days. God doesn’t want us trapped in a continuous cycle of exhaust, collapse, repair, and repeat. God provides what we need to move along, even if, for the moment, that provision is only enough to help us take the next step.

—Wendy LeBolt, Made to Move: Knowing and Loving God Through Our Bodies (Upper Room Books, 2019)

Today’s Scripture

The angel of the Lord came a second time, touched him, and said, “Get up and eat, otherwise the journey will be too much for you.”
—1 Kings 19:7 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

Lord, help me put my love for you in motion: reaching to hold, lifting heavy loads, showing up when it counts, applauding to share my joy.

I mentioned the problem posting, Julie you took it further and the problem seems to be resolved. Thank you!
God’s strength comes to me in ways hard to describe. I feel it, recognize it, but of course it is quite invisible. Jesus said the most important things are not what’s seen, but what is unseen.
Thankful Caesar (AKA the IRS) has refunded overpayment and it will go to good use. Another step in the right direction.
I don’t aways name everyone here for whom I pray, but you are prayed for by name to God.
Thank you for prayers. Thank You, Lord
