New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

GOD IS WITH US behind our defensive walls, our locked doors. The doors are not kicked in, nor are the walls and masks torn away. God understands that our walls and masks grew from our pain and fear, from traumas that affected our ability to trust. In time the doors themselves will be healed, and our masks will become living flesh again when we realize we no longer need them for our survival. But in the meantime, the healing love shines in our defended darkness, and God’s Holy Spirit is breathed upon us.

Thankful for all of the posts recently from old and new posters- grateful for prayers and support feeeley given here.
God’s healing continues in me daily- sometimes I feel life is steps forward and steps back but the thing that remains constant is the presence of the Lord – always with me – always there – I have felt him with me when I wake up at night and cannot sleep- when I wake up in the morning and turn to my devotionals and prayers- when I attend my church and here my new pastor speak – the message is only to have faith and His love will sustain me.
Thankful for a good visit with my oldest daughter- was able to help her set up her new apartment- and I feel God was there helping it all go smoothly- we spent time together and I felt a healing in our relationship. We are not as close as we once were but yet she is letting me in more I feel. And I thank God for that. I try to help her and support her the best I can.
Today is the last leg of the trip and another college visit for my youngest daughter – I pray that that goes smoothly and we return home safely tonight. Haven’t heard much from my son but my prayers are with him also as he navigates life’s ups and downs.
I know that God who created the universe can handle me and my little problems- I need only have the faith and trust in His timing and His will- not mine.
Prayers for all who come here today seeking His healing love and peace.

So glad to see you post, Lou! Grateful for your time with both your daughters. It is a blessing to see them strike out on their own and become adults. Praying for guidance and comfort for you.

I have experienced God’s healing in the lives of the women who are joining me in the women’s prison ministry. His healing, both physical and emotional, has been a testimony to share. Thank you! I continue to lift up Diane, Vanessa, Karen, Balinda and others not yet named to our Team.
Blessings to all those who visit here.

It is going to be a difficult day I am afraid. I am facing troublesome people who always disrupt the peace!
    Thankful for:
    Hearing from Lou.
The few hours of sleep I did get. Will catch up, though.
God in front of me, God behind me, God beside me.

Thank you, Mary-I am going to need it.

      • Connie Posted August 14, 2018 7:53 am

Thanks Andrea. God heard my friend’s prayers.

  • Mary Ng Shwu Ling Posted August 13, 2018 7:59 am

So glad to hear from Lou and her progress.

May God continue to watch over her and her family!

    Blessings to all!

Also very glad to meet a Christian this morning. Sharing each other’s testimony strengthens and refreshes us. Praise God!

Prayers for you Mary and your parents. May your parents pain be slight today. How wonderful to share a conversation with a fellow Christian that you just met. What a giving Lord we have.

      • Mary Ng Shwu Ling Posted August 13, 2018 9:50 am

        Indeed?

Prayers for Lou, for safe travels and for her children as they eaach face different life stages. May Lou feel less lonely.
Prayers for Betsy aand her family. Prayers for her and her prison ministry team. I am in awe of such brave and giving women.
Prayers for Connie. How well I know of troublesome people and sleepless nights. My prayers and understanding and virtual hugs.
Prayers for Marcy, our dear sweet sister who suffers with so much pain. I will continue my kitty tales. My Chai is quite the talker. He talks softly if you pet him and he is quite loud when he is angry. He sasses back when you tell no. When he is angry he flattens his ears as he yells and tries to look menacing.
Prayers for Robert and Erich as they await word of the job today.
Prayers for Jill and her family.
Prayers of thanks to April. I immediately began looking into your suggestions. I have found some promising teaching online but need to dig further for universities as those I found are for school age children. I feel this is the Lord leading me, since it came from a UR family member on this site. Thank you again.
Prayers and blessings to all of the UR family, both new to us and those we have cherished awhile

    • Connie Posted August 13, 2018 11:46 am

      Thanks so much, Julie.
      Chai has quite the personality!

Well, well, well! All of us WOMEN Warriors today! Missing our men today but there IS something special about a tender prayer sharing amongst our sisters with so much in common, from our ailments to aging Parents and our children and education of them, oh, and of course our insomnia and CATS! I myself have FIVE!

    • Connie Posted August 14, 2018 7:58 am

Oh yes, our children and CATS….blessings from God. I don’t have a cat right now, but my daughter loved cats and had five also, I believe, at one time. Have a great Tuesday.
