New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Nature’s beauty is itself a reflection of Jesus’ own beauty. Thomas Aquinas reminded us that God wove beauty into the world to reflect God’s own beauty. Jesus will “make the woeful heart to sing.” . . . The antidote to sorrow isn’t having a bunch of fun; it is looking to Jesus. The antidote to despair is praise. For us, we see the Beautiful Savior at our Lord’s table.

—James C. Howell, Unrevealed Until Its Season: A Lenten Journey with Hymns (Upper Room Books, 2021)

Today’s Scripture

Mountains , rivers, and lakes especially remind me of Jesus. They are where his ministry took him, where he preached, taught, was baptized, transfigured, and prayed. Will meet church friends today, we’ve been apart physically for a while. Lunch at our often frequented spot. The mask requirement is fading here. Very encouraged with the East Swanton station roof, now down to fine tuning, making it rigid so it holds its shape. Have some windows in place, it’s the details that add character. Enjoying this week’s book which we are using for our Lenten study. Music perks me up a lot. Continued prayers for Julie, Larry with Jill and Becky helping, Ally&David, Lou, the people of Ukraine, NATO’s eastern front, and Russians opposed to Putin’s war. May the lifting of mask requirements not bring a new round of Covid.
Prayer, fasting, and alms giving during Lent.
    Thank You, Lord.

Mountains, flowers, sunrise and sunset. The beauty, majesty and uniqueness.
Prayers for Ally, David, Jeremy, Scout and Roger for improved health. Lord, please be with Ally through all that she is dealing wiith. Please be with Jill, Larry and Becky during this transition. Also be with Robert during his own transition. And Lord please be with all who visit here today.

The earth’s beauty always reminds me of the beauty of Jesus: the grape hyacinths in my front yard( their scent is exquisite), the bluebirds nesting in my neighbor’s yard, vivid fall color in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia, music. To reference an earlier entry from this week, heaven will be more beautiful. I must say I look forward to seeing my dear ones who are there waiting.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers. Know I hold all of you close in my heart and in my prayers. Please pray for my mental health. My spirits are low right now.

The colors of a sunrise or sunset. The majesty of snow covered Rocky Mountains. The quiet trickle of a brook, or lapping of a calm ocean. How I miss the mountains and would love to return soon.
Absolutely incredible weather today. Sun and near 70. Spectacular and makes me yearn for spring even more.
My sister and dad are working very hard to get things in order, cleaned out and moved ahead of moving day on Tuesday.
Cancer support group tomorrow morning. I will be speaking with the leader following the meeting, as I will be helping to put out the details of prayer concerns and praises shared, so that those unable to attend will have a current listing.
Praying for the needs here – Robert as he plans a move, Julie as she tries to regain physical strength, Ally as she is struggling mentally – Lord, lift her up.
