Today’s Reflection
Christian practices that incorporate everyday gestures and actions typically involve our bodies: We speak, sing, eat, wash, or bow. We walk. By investing these gestures with new meanings, Christian practices shift our way of being in the world. The Incarnation means that God invites us to experience our physical, embodied existence as a dwelling place of the holy.
—Thomas R. Hawkins, Every Step a Prayer: Walking as Spiritual Practice (Upper Room Books, 2016)
Today’s Question
What everyday gestures serve as a reminder that your body is God’s dwelling place? Join the conversation.
Today’s Scripture
I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
—Romans 12:1 (NRSV)

54 years ago today, an event that would dramatically change my life began. I was in the army. That led to service in Korea, a glimpse of
the woman who would become my wife,, and after military service was over and I returned to Korea as a teacher, we truly met and were married. Thank You,Lord.
Wonderful to hear from you,Robert. Praying for you as you remember your journey with your wonderful wife.
I often clap if a lively hymn moves me in worship. I sing. Sometimes I kneel in prayer. I pray as I walk at work, going about my duties. Please pray for our Lucy, who has not been feeling well. She spent last night at vets. She’s a wonderful girl. Thank You Lord, for NEM and my friends here.
