Today’s Reflection
Here is what I know about dreams: Dreams can make us live, but they can also leave a hole inside us when they die. Some of them come true. But it’s the ones that don’t come true, the ones that go down in flames, that can kill us. But here is the secret: If we embrace them and take them into our holy room, if we sit and learn what they have to teach us, they may just help us live.

I feel like I have embraced mom’s struggle, her passing, and accompanying dad with his grief fairly well. Albeit only because of God – His strengthening me to do it. And, I am be the person I am today, because when my heart was broken…it was broken open and not apart. I asked God to use the circumstances to His glory, to not let my suffering be in vain. But, to use the challenging situation, to further mold me and use me. And, how rewarding it is to see what that now has the potential to look like, being a hospice volunteer and ultimately an end of life doula. All praise to Him.
The sun came out yesterday morning – and dad and I had a beautiful day to golf. And my god son’s birthday party was very low key, very small. Good to see my friend enjoy herself, laugh a lot with her sister-in-law and niece.
Today just as full, actually – moreso. Church this morning. Then off to Becky, Don and dad’s – to prepare for the party. We are having lunch and then cake and ice cream. A friend from my tennis team lives in their neighborhood. She heard about my surgery being postponed and texted me to see if we could golf. We are going to play 9 holes following the party. My plan is to get a nap in before going to the party. We will see if it happens.
