New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Imagine waking up in the morning embraced by divine love. This love provides an unshakable sense of worthiness and belonging. It gives you the courage to know and be known by other people. Imagine being exactly who God created you to be. Authenticity is a gift to others. It enables you to be a great friend because you have empathy and compassion to share. Imagine loving with your whole heart and celebrating with gratitude and joy the knowledge that you are enough.

Today’s Scripture

So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.

God is love. I have felt closest to God when I witness the beauty of His creation. The changing of the seasons also is a time when I marvel at all of His works – the changing leaves, the first snowfall, the emergence of the beautiful spring flowers – all a delight and a marvel.
I need some nature at this moment – I just sent my youngest to NY this morning- it’s been a few stressful weeks of trying to locate an apartment and pack and move. Today is moving day. I was sad to see her go but pray that she will enjoy living with her roommate – she has so been looking forward to this since returning home early from school in March. I pray for a good school year and for her safety and health.
Prayers for teachers everywhere who are facing significant challenges this year.
Prayers for all here at the UR –
    God loves you.

When I travel to the beach, the last evening following dinner, I go down and sit on the beach. I pray, sometimes I take my headphones so I can listen to some of my favorite songs, and I just soak in the atmosphere. A few of these times I have felt very close to God. Spending meaningful time with a friend, in a deep discussion where there is realness and vulnerability – God is there with us and I recognize upon reflection, the depth which I felt with Him and the person.
The procedure yesterday went about as well as it could have. All of the cancer was removed with the biopsy in late June. I asked the doctor about playing tennis Saturday, so he sutured me up in such a way to give my wound extra strength around my skin and told me to go for it. Discomfort was managed yesterday and overnight with Tylenol and I will take it easy again today.
Dad and I had a lovely dinner late yesterday afternoon. The timing was perfect as a storm blew up about 15 minutes after we left. The outdoor seating was lovely and the food very tasty. Dad’s favorite pasta dish was no longer on the menu, so he got walleye and enjoyed it.

I would say the time I described yesterday as I held, nursed and massaged Megan as a baby. I felt a remarkable closeness to God and to Megan.
Prayers for Lou and her youngest. May her daughter enjoy the year while also staying safe and healthy. May Lou’s lonliness abate quickly.
Prayers for Jill and Larry. May Jill continue to heal with minimal pain.
Prayers for Robert and his diligent toil to accurately recreate His German railroad station. May he find much joy from the processs as well as each finished piece.
Prayers for Ally and David. Prayers for David as he continues to struggle with the lasting effects of COVID 19.
Prayers, thank you and say well dear UR

Without a doubt the two times I felt closest to God were when I perceived God’s presence. The same location both times, I was on a bed, and it was just so amazing. It has been a while. I think too being sent to Korea instead of Vietnam, being able to pay off a debt, and being comforted when Soo Ok passed away are times when God was close and I was able to recognize that. Being present when your children are born is a big blessing.

Glad for the good news shared by Jill, Lou, and Julie. Cancer free is special. Hope the tennis matches go
well. A daughter safe at school, hope the school year is safe and successful. Progress on my American trains. The German ones are on the back burner at the moment. Wonderful breakfast with the pastor this morning. Cooler weather, fall is on the way here too.

Stay safe, be well. Thank You, Lord.
