New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Receive the love of God as you sit silently in Centering Prayer.

Read Isaiah 43:1-4. Then read it again. On the second reading, use your name and family name in place of Jacob and Israel. Hear what God is saying to you. Ponder that word. Let it sink in deeply. Offer your response in thanksgiving and petition. Take the assurance that comes to you.

—J. David Muyskens, Sacred Breath: Forty Days of Centering Prayer (Upper Room Books, 2010)

Today’s Question

What do you experience when you imagine Divine Love calling you by name? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

But now thus says the LORD,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.

—Isaiah 43:1 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

This week we invite you to practice Centering Prayer:
1. Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within.
2. Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly, and then silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your consent to God’s presence and action within.
3. When engaged with your thoughts [which includes body sensations, feelings, images, reflections], return ever so gently to the sacred word.
4. At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.
Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.

What it says to me is that God has me in my situation. That His steadfast love and mercy will see me through. But not just see me through but deliver me and give me safe harbor and a positive outcome. He will not allow any harm to come to me.
Apologies to Lou as I misspoke yesterday. Prayers for her and her children as they visit, may all be safe and may they continue to see her home as their safe harbor from life’s storms. Happy birthday dear Lou and may all be safe and well. Prayers for Ally and David, for health and jobs. Prayers for Jill and Larry, for safe travel and increased awareness and patience. Prayers for Robert, his family and friends and church family, may all be safe and well and develop good relationships with one another.
Grocery shopping today and spending the day with Megan tomorrow. I will be going to the movies for the first time since the pandemic. I will wear my mask and not remove it the whole time. I am nervous, but I am vaccinated and so it is time to get over my reluctance. I still haven’t eaten in a restaurant. I am not ready to take off my mask inside a crowded area.
Thank you for your prayers and may all be safe and well.

It is a quite overwhelming, awe filled experience when I imagine Divine Love calling me by name? Just being aware of God’s presence left me speechless, motionless. That I am a child of God is a most appreciated gift.

Glad that opportunities to get out, do what most of us consider normal activities, are coming your way. Julie, and hopefully this is also true for everyone.

Have had a wonderful day thus far, watched Minari last night, a very precious movie for me.
Much to identify with. It went right to the heart.

Painting the yellow stripes on the Brill car, finished the table, the insulated curtain and living room AC are working well, had a nice lunch with church friends.

In oerson worship returns a week from Sunday. ZOOM will continue as ministry has expanded.

Stau cool, be comfortable, than you for your prayers,. You remain in mine. Thank You, Lord.
