New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

We are called to live into our belovedness with courage. At times we will be called to take risks and make sacrifices. We will be called to be vulnerable and lean into uncertainty and even fear. We will be called to do what is necessary to glorify God. It may be scary, and it will require a great deal of courage. But it will be possible because we will be living out our true story with our whole heart.

Father – I lift David to you, and his wife Ally – in this time of illness and isolation – Father, be their Great Comforter. May Your love surround Ally and Your peace buoy her. Father – as hard as it is to say – may Your will be done…may it be so, Father. It is possible that You be glorified in these circumstances…may it be so, Father.
And even as I long to say, come quickly, Lord Jesus – I think of today being Palm Sunday. And the week which was ahead for Our Saviour. He didn’t rush the events of the week. I imagine He quietly treasured them as He relied on His Father. Oh, there is much to learn of His example, always.
Father – may we rejoice in this day – which You have given us – a gift. May we treasure it, may we treasure You. Teach us to embrace what You have ordained for our lives.

Again, I add my prayers to Jill’s and Robert’s for all in the world today as each struggles with their own burdens. As Jesus struggled duriing this week, leaned into His Father and then determined to be resolved to His fate, may we follow His example and lean into this time and our role within.
Prayers for Jill and Larry as each navigates this time with their personal burdens.
Prayers for Robert and all for whom he prays, may all be safe and well.
Prayers continue for Ally and David and for relief from their individual suffering.
Prayers for Andrea as she cares for her family during this time with small acts of compassion.
Prayers for April as she stays connected to family using whatever means available.
Prayers for Lou and her family, may she continue to have a financially viable case load.
Prayers for Rick as he stays sober using Zoom meetings, I applaud your tenacity and drive.
Prayers forBJ on this Palm Sunday, may she enjoy a faith filled day via social media church attendance.
    Prayers and thank you UR

Palm Sunday – as a child, it was a day to walk into church with bit of palm in our hands. Today I will pick up a fallen branch with a few leaves. Jesus was humble, riding a lowly donkey into Jerusalem. What a moment of honor for the donkey. I think of each of us, as funny as it may sound, as a donkey – ordinary people, who have the opportunity to carry Jesus into the world. G.K. Chesterton wrote a poem called The Donkey, about Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. It’s easily found on Google.

Prayers for dear UR friends and all who visit here.. Continued prayers that David’s health returns to normal, and that Ally stays well and has support. Wishing all a blessed Palm Sunday.

Good morning, David has a kidney injury which sometimes comes with the stress of a ventilator. He will receive Dialysis today. Renal nurse practitioner says this injury usually reverses itself. I’m so thankful for David’s care team. I thankful for each scrap of progress, and there are some. His other systems are functioning and there is no sign of sepsis. He is requiring less oxygen on the vent. If anyone has read The Hiding Place, you know the story of Corrie and Betsy praising God for the fleas. I praise God for each flea. I spend my days in isolation in prayer, study of the word, meditation, caring for our cats, doing household chores. It is Very hard not being with David, but I praise God for that flea too. I thank God for the blessing of our family and friends who have been so supportive and for those who have brought me supplies. God is a good Father. I don’t feel courageous, but God sees things God’s way. Thanks to all for your prayers. I lift up your needs as well. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. I ran some low-grade fever last night and will contact my primary care tomorrow morning. Blessings to all.
