New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

With his eye on the life and teachings of Jesus, Henri suggests that our deepest desire be to help create a community of love in the world. Our mission, our overarching purpose, is to love. There are many ways to make this purpose concrete in our lives. We may be surprised (and excited!) to read Henri’s assurance that fundraising is a practical and privileged way to build a community of love, bring justice into the world, and learn how to walk humbly with God. Fundraising is a way of loving deeply.

This space – it is sacred – it overflows with love. Our little community of compassion – where each of us can be heard, upheld in prayer.
Rusty – thank you for your honest post yesterday. May God comfort you and provide you the words to comfort your K. I have learned the challenge of sitting with another who is broken and spilling over. That, too, is a holy space. I imagine the strain to find the right words was not only felt by you. And, in that, the struggle was maybe more powerful than words could have been. Praying that you both will embrace the simplicity you have in your life and the continued joy of caring for your grandchildren.
Julie – praying for this unknown space of time, as you wait for H to come home. And for the conversation which must ensue with Megan. May God provide you with the words needed, and the endurance for the time ahead caregiving.
Robert – as plans continue to be put in place for the move to the Poconos, may God grant you wisdom for the tasks and decisions ahead. And a continued meaningful relationship with Erich.
Andrea – praying for Lowell and his health situation. May you rest in God and His sovereignty.
All of us are caregivers in one way or another. May we continue to lean into God, for the story He is writing, for the transformation He will do in us and through us.
A day off of school today, due to the bitter cold. We found out about 5 minutes before the school day ended yesterday. Nice to know so much in advance. Attended my god son’s basketball game last evening. My friend continues to improve. She went back to work yesterday. She has to travel out of town in a week. A bit anxious about flying.
I re-scheduled my PT today, for earlier since school is cancelled. Waiting to hear if the grief group will cancel this evening. I suspect it will. Usually if the school district closes, the accompanying churches follow suit. If it does get cancelled, I plan on visiting my hospice patient following PT – as both are on the same side of town.

Jill, thank you. And Lord, thank you for speaking the comfort I needed through Jill. She is your vessel, and praise you for her gracious callings here and in life “outside.”
Jill may you heal fully and speedily from your surgeries and thank you again. So grateful to know you and everyone in this (indeed!) sacred space.

I think it speaks to the loving nature of this group that we know we can be vulnerable here. Even if we have not posted in some time, we are welcomed and our pain is prayed over.
Rusty, thank you for sharing your pain as well as K’s. I hope you communicate to her our love, prayers and support.
Andrea, thank you for sharing your pain and please know anytiime you need us we are here. We send you and Lowell our love, prayers and support.
Jill, thank you for sharing your pain and uncertainty preceding your surgery. I echo Rusty’s prayer for your speedy healing.
Robert, thank you for sharing your plans for moving with us. I know you develop deep roots in each location and each move is painful. Please know that we pray that this location in the Poconos can be your forever home.
Thank you all for coming beside me as I care for h. I am truly terrified prior to his homecoming. I have no idea how to prepare and what it will be like. Your prayers sooth my quaking soul.
