New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Christ invites us to come and share in an alternative to the anxiety and fear we experience and enact daily. It is as if Christ is saying to us, “Come to the Table of perfect love that casts out all fear and anxiety. Here is more than enough! All the fullness of God is here. When you come to this Table, greed motivated by fear will forever be inappropriate and unnecessary. Repent of it. When you come to this Table, all exclusion, hate, and vengeance must be left in God’s keeping. Come now; come, and count on God’s generosity toward all.”

—Gayle Carlton Felton, Conflict and Communion: Reconciliation and Restorative Justice at Christ’s Table (Upper Room Books, 2006)

Today’s Question

Today’s Scripture

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
—John 14:27 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

Anxiety over everything has been a part of my life for so long, it is hard to let go. I want peace and ask God to help me pursue peace and model peace.

Hope you have God’s help, Ally.
I have become more confident in God’s generosity over the years. Some medication to help my serotonin has also helped.
Have to be patient and prepare for a hopeful attempt to move to the Poconos in the spring. The current market is not helpful. Lots of things to do, both here in NH, and in preparation. Thank You, Lord, for resources that help us be ready.
