Today’s Reflection
Jesus’ followers are called his body. His precious, broken body. Everyone matters in the body of believers; without one another we’re incomplete. I couldn’t make it through cancer without people like my husband, who has been there for every single chemo session. I’m boosted by others who have helped carry my load. They’re the living body of Christ, here and now. Each word and act of kindness speaks to my heart.

The encouragement and prayers from those here at the UR are greatly appreciated and I have come to rely on this group as a source to carry me through. I’m looking forward to a visit with my mother and brother and extended family this week. Prayers for easy and safe travel. I had a hard day emotionally yesterday and I have no clue why. I felt anxious and unsettled the whole day- I took a walk midday and prayed throughout the day. Hopefully today will feel better. Thankful for all the gifts God has blessed me with- most especially my family and friends. Prayers and peace to all of you on this beautiful summer day.
Just read over earlier comments- prayers for your travels Robert- I also leave early Thursday. Prayers for summer school in person! For you Jill- it must feel so good to be back! Prayers for you Julie- so glad you have found a new church!
I am like Lou in that the kind words offered here have buoyed me during difficult times, including the current period. I, too, have come to rely on and cherish this small group.
Prayers for safe travel for Lou and Robert and for enhanced learning for Jill’s students. Thankful to hear of Jill’s changed spirit regarding her sister, I have joined my prayers to your for these months. Prayers for Marti and her staff and great thanks as well. Thank you for your prayers and God bless all who come here today.
During those long, hard days and nights with mom – a text, a phone call, an email would arrive just when needed. Or I would get a card in the mail box at the end of the day. And if I needed an extra boost, I would read back through some texts for encouragement. My one dear companion on that road, I remember her calling me following a tennis match. I was going directly to mom and dad’s and it was about a half hour ride. She prayed on the phone the entire 30 minutes. This group here is a consistent source of prayer warriorship and encouragement.
Dad and I golfed this afternoon, and it wasn’t crowded at all. It was warm, but the sun wasn’t fully out, so it wasn’t too bad. I didn’t expect to get done so quickly, but am super grateful. Now I can take my time with dinner and getting to tennis, which is a later match.
I most certainly have been lifted by THIS COMMUNITY, CHURCH MEMBERS, AND FAMILY. Of course my most, and I suspect this is true for ALL OF YOU as well, helpful, supportive, encouraging help comes from the LORD. It’s so nice to have found the right time to post and feel connected.
Safe travel Lou, you and your family are well connected. I think I would be very tuckered out playing golf, teaching and then playing tennis at night. Knowing how much golf, your Dad, and tennis mean to you and expecting that in-person teaching is going far better than via ZOOM, I pray you, Jill, are a happy camper. Normalcy is returning. Continued very necessary prayers for Julie hoping a good resolution is on the way.
Doing quite well with my wobbly teeth gone, eating is easier. Was able to get in a walk today, saw the Conway Scenic RR valley train come to Conway and then return to the station in North Conway.
Bible study was an adventure, there was a problem and we saw but heard little from Pastor Carol.
I was sent two leader’s guides instead of a book, so I was pressed into service as the interim leader.
Despite the confusion, we are all back on track. Condo association board meeting went well. Tomorrow is final packing and then early Thursday morning I’m off to seer my daughter and granddaughters. Back August 5th but I will be on NEM every day. Blessings to you all. Thank You, Lord.
