New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Money worries eat at your spirit and dry up your prayer life. This kind of worry creates a barrier between you and God and leaves you feeling alone and lost. But as you think of the words of Hebrews 13:5, remember that God is always there, always ready to take your hand and pull you up out of the mire of worry.

—Patricia Wilson, Freedom from Worry: 28 Days of Prayer (Upper Room Books, 2013)

If you’ve enjoyed this week’s reflections, the Freedom From Worry eCourse is now being offered free to all individuals through April 18, 2020. Use the promo code FREEDOM when registering.

Today’s Question

When you feel alone in your worry, can you remember that God is with you? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Your way of life should be free from the love of money, and you should be content with what you have. After all, [Jesus] has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.
—Hebrews 13:5 (CEB)

Yes, knowing God was/is/ and will be with us always and that God has helped me is very reassuring, So far so good through this time of great concern. Prayers for all as I have friends and family in Asia, the US and Europe. Simple steps to stay safe: wash hands often for 20 seconds, stay home, if you do go out keep a 6 foot distance from others. Hopefully ZOOM will help us worship together this weekend. A positive note, this virus has helped us come together in new and safe ways. Thank You, Lord.

Absolutely – He is near. It is me who needs to move back to Him. Worry is the great separator.
April, thank you for your suggestions. The “snipping” tool is great. I certainly am able, when time isn’t a constraint, to use various options to create math “documents” with appropriate symbols and notation. I am just wrestling with the ability to purvey my thoughts mathematically in real time, if what I am writing cannot be displayed. I am sure the answer is out there – and I will find a workable solution through next week’s professional development.
My internet is sometimes sketchy and not the fastest – I am wondering how this may become a hindrance as well. Right now my “work station” is in my sunroom. But I need to move it – to have the best chance of not losing my wifi connection. So – I will do that today, as well as go into school and grab some needed things. Trying to envision what this new kind of learning is going to look like. I feel like the kids are so flexible and will adjust to anything we throw at them. Plus they are great with technology. The adjustment for me will be significant – but doable! I need to have grace with myself and the bumps which will ensue.
May Molly have the strength and patience to “see” her patients remotely as well as tend to her son.

Good morning, UR FAMILY! There is power in the name of “Jesus.” Yes, Jesus cares and He is always with us. Yes, He knows all about us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. And you know what, He is an on-time God. He may not come when you want Him, but still He is right on time. I want to wish each and every one a blessed day on this day. May God continue to bless you and keep you. I love this UR crew. Pray for one another daily.

Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.(kjv) He also said, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” Matthew 11:30.(kjv) Lord, let it be less of me and more of You. Psalm 25: 4 says, “Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.(kjv)

I know that God is with me and I know His time is not my time BUT I also know good Christian people can go hungry and be homeless through no fault of their own or lack of faith. So to not have a certain amount of worry is impossible for me. Prayers for Jill as she continues to determine how to teach her students through new technology. I was wondering if you could use Skype or some form of video conferencing and set up a whiteboard in your house and lecture as always? This would allow two way interaction allowing your students to ask questions, etc. Prayers for Larry during this time of isolation, may God be with him.
Prayers for Robert as he shelters in place, may he remain healthy and connected to his church through technology.
Prayers for BJ and her mother, may they stay safe and healthy through this. Thank you for your sage words as always.
Prayers for Andrea and Molly, may both be safe and refreshed by the Lord.
Prayers for April as she continues to so generously share her flowers with us. I have a question regarding the ecourse; will yoube buying the book?
Prayers for Rick, may his health be improving. Prayers for Lou and her children as they grapple with uncertainty of school.
Prayers and thank you UR posters and administrators

Hi again, Julie! You sho’ know what to say. We just got to pray on and be content. It’s a little tough at times, again make do. I try to keep a gallon of clorox on hand. But yesterday, i went to family, i got 2 gallons. I went to the local stores last week, none was in stock. In MS, a gallon is $4.98. Well, old satan be trying to keep me from picking up the Bible sometimes. None this week has i read the daily verses of how to read the Bile in one year. One of my Bibles i bought in jan has that option. I catch myself just reading other bibical verse. Glory be to God! Take care, and my your day be filled with more peace through out this day. Thank God for yesterday’s blessings. Don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
