New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

It is imperative that the institutional church that is collapsing beneath bureaucratic top heaviness, clergy-centric practice, and ecclesiastic loss of soul live forward into the original vision of Jesus. Indeed, the gospel-shaped church is the only kind that will birth Jesus-followers in the years ahead. What I see emerging in myriad ways and places is precisely that — a gospel-shaped movement.

Today’s Scripture

The church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. God strengthened the church, and its life was marked by reverence for the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the church continued to grow in numbers.
—Acts 9:31 (CEB)

Deep, far-reaching Gospel centered love. The Gospel – God’s Word – must be the foundation for all actions and words of the church. It isn’t open to interpretation, other than what the Spirit moves in an individual’s heart. If there is question – the solution is found in The Word.
The church I attend on Thursday evenings is doing a 10 week series on Galatians. I am getting quite a bit out of it. The preaching at this church is very thought provoking.
Busy day at school and a couple of busy days ahead.
Dad had a set back…one good day and he definitely overdid it. I tried to encourage Becky to be a bit more assertive with him. Definitely not in her nature.
