New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

When those with money and those who need money share a mission, we see a central sign of new life in the Spirit of Christ. We belong together in our work because Jesus has brought us together, and our fruitfulness depends on staying connected with him. Jesus tells us: “I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). With him, we can do anything because we know that God surrounds us with an abundance of blessings.

Today’s Scripture

I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.

I have thought from my standpoint only, as in, without being connected to Jesus I am incapable of true life. It is only through recognizing him as my Savior and placing him at the center of my life tttthat I am truly alive both physically and spiritually. He is the source of my life and without him I wither and die. But how this affects my relationship to others is a new perspective. I see us all as extensions of the same central Savior. We all take our life from him and we are one in our dependence on him for life. We draw from the same life blood.
Things are settling in to a new mormal. The kitties were perplexed at first but are now getting more comfortable. Booker is still restless, but he is the still quite mischievousious. Megan will switch to 7:30 start time after the two weeks of orientation, so kitties will need to readjust again.
Prayers for Ally and David, for David’s mental health and both of their physical health and financial issues. Prayers for Larry as he seeks out more social outlets, perhaps he could volunteer. Prayers for Jill as she navigates new administration, colleagues and mentoring, may she remember her time as a new teacher fresh out of school. Prayers for Robert and his church as they try to find a new pastor while still maintaining all of the worship practices. Prayers for Marti and her staff. Thank you for your prayers and God bless all who visit here today.

I think it is quite easy to view earthly relationships as vital. And, indeed, some are. But – the most vital is our relationship with Christ. This is where our focus must be and where we draw strength and wisdom. Part of that wisdom for me is asking Him to help me keep earthly relationships in the proper perspective.
Today is the first “official” day with our principal back. And he came by my class first block – to address with me the situation with my colleague. I was relieved, I was impressed and I was VERY grateful. Hoping to see a proper resolution.
A two hour meeting after school today – hopefully it will be productive and go quickly. Small group is this evening, so I hope I have the ability to focus and willingness to share.

If you are on the vine, no matter where you are, you are connected to Jesus. That ‘s very comforting, reassuring. No intercessors, but a direct link.
Hope the cats and Megan adjust well to time changes.
I agree with keeping “earthly relationships in the proper perspective.” That’s a work always in progress for me.
Yes, prayers for Ally&David, and Larry regarding health, well-being, expanding relationships, and aging.
So thankful there is a positive tone to the situation at Jill’s school, sure hope it all works out well.
Good news at my doctor’s checkup. I’m A-ok, had two shots, flu and Pfizer booster.
The needed decals arrived and have been installed. I’m moving to the front end of the car, numbers in the numberboards, some touch up paint to get lines very crisp, narrow white stripe decals over the lower level yellow stripes, lights, and grab irons. Then the body gets window glass. The message for this week’s service is underway, Thank you for your prayers, had a great visit to nearby by Wolfeboro NH, a town on NH’s largest lake. Saw the Mount Washington load and unload at the dock, at yummy hermit cookies, walked around, it’s a beautiful town. Thank You, Lord, some changes in diet will help Anneliese.
