New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

This journey of conflict transformation, especially the decision to love an enemy, involves willingness to risk. Relationships always entail vulnerability. Commitment to relationships with God and neighbor involves letting go of the desire to control, including the outcome of your efforts.

—Thomas Porter, The Spirit and Art of Conflict Transformation: Creating a Culture of Justpeace (Upper Room Books, 2010)

Today’s Question

Are you willing to risk vulnerability for the sake of relationship today? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love, and make an effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties you together.
—Ephesians 4:2-3 (CEB)

Prayer for the Week

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love.

I think I am in that position with Erich. He doesn’t believe, at least he says so He does good things, helps maintain the.condo and car, is doing CBT with me, but blames me for his situation. We do have a plan and are making progress with it . Hopefully it will lead to a move to the Poconos
Book discussion this morning and as best I know Lay Sevant class tomorrow evening Thank You, Lord.

It is difficult to allow myself to be vulnerable with an individual who has abused me emotionally, mentally, physically and financially for 25 years. I fear any vulnerability will open the door to worse.
H and I have a session with a Parkinson’s focused group that offers services for respite and counselling among other options. This is a four part series offered for free to help with communication and care for both individuals in the situation.
Prayers for Ally and David and their many concerns and needs. Prayers for Jill and her students as they embark on a new year. Prayers for Robert and Erich, may Erich realize that each of us has autonomy and authority over our own life.
