New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

GOD KNOWS THAT for transformation to happen, we must dig deep. To bring order and direction to our lives and to invest them fully with the power of the Holy Spirit, we must be disciplined. Not punished, as discipline is commonly understood, but held to the highest standard, voluntarily. That is, we must dedicate ourselves to the practice of spiritual disciplines such as prayer and worship, confession and fasting, and sacrificial service and giving, in order to align ourselves with God’s will.

—Wendy LeBolt, Made to Move: Knowing and Loving God Through Our Bodies (Upper Room Books, 2019)

Today’s Scripture

Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
—Hebrews 12:11 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

We are people on a journey to come closer to God’s will for us. Our lives are the Gospel, sometimes the only Good News others will ever hear or see. Pray for Christ to help us bring others closer to him.

QT every day, prayer, reading scripture, donating to and supporting causes that help people, and worship are all helpful. I pray they are done in a way that is in accordance with God’s will.

Below zero here last night and will stay cold a few days, but a 40 degree day is not so far away.
Prayers everyone is safe and secure in whatever setting you find yourself. God be with you in your needs, concerns and joys! Thankful for a wonderful Valentine’s Day get together last night at church. and for the blessings of the day. Thank You Lord!
