New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

If we, like Jesus Christ, believe the world is worth saving, then we will act on behalf of Christ for the sake of the world. We will serve others in the ways that Jesus served others. We will speak and act against injustice in the world. We will feed the hungry and find ways to change food policies. We will clothe the naked and minister to those who are homeless. We will visit those in prison and work to make the prison a place where individuals are restored to wholeness. We will make God’s justice and love real on earth.

—George Hovaness Donigian, A World Worth Saving: Lenten Spiritual Practices for Action (Upper Room Books, 2013)

Today’s Question

Today’s Scripture

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.
—Matthew 25:35, NRSV

Prayer for the Week

Creator God,
I believe the world you created is worth saving. Give me the courage and strength and the desire to act in big and little ways to make your justice and love real on earth. Amen.

I pray to be the hands and feet of Christ wherever I am. I pray for the homeless and hungry. I pray for the abused and forgotten. I pray for Peace!🛐

I pray for others and I give to food pantries and pet shelters via means of monetary donation as well as cat food and other items.
Prayers for all the UR faithful and even those who no longer are commenting.
I have an appointment to get my first dose of theCOVID vaccine! so I don’t have much time. I only found out I was eligible via email, I called, and an appointment was available today! We will be traveling an hour from home…but well worth the inconvenience.

I do many of the things listed above, am an advocate on a variety of issues, have to keep at it.
Thankful Julie will get a shot today. Prayers indeed for those who no longer comment.
Glad to be back from moderation. Had ZOOM Bible study this morning. Spring is here, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Maunday Thursday, Good Friday and Easter on the way. Blessings to all.

Seeing a need and doing what I can to meet it. Not often enough do I ask God to present these opportunities to me. But – on occasion – I do ask Him – and in His timing – He lets me know. Other circumstances just arise. I must be observant and willing to act and willing to sacrifice time.
My easier day at school – and I am grateful. My friend from Montana is in town to care for her dad – giving her siblings a respite time. We are meeting this afternoon to walk and catch up.
Father – may we walk like Your Son – observant and expectant – for opportunities which we can glorify You.

This reflection reminded me of an old poem that a dear Sunday School teacher shared with her class many years ago called “Prayer and Potatoes”. It has been a long time since I read it so I was able to find it on the internet and read it again. Prayers for all of the “posters”!
