New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I don’t pretend to know why God chooses to allow some things to happen. This side of heaven, I imagine we will continue to live in the tension of the sovereignty of God and our freedom of choice—and how those two things intermingle to impact what happens in our lives. To be clear, I don’t want to imply that God makes difficult things happen to us so that we can grow. What I know is that sometimes painful things happen and that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him” (Rom. 8:28, NIV). And sometimes that good can be difficult to see, so we rest (or rumble) in the sacred ambiguity of what new thing is being born.

Today’s Question

How can you “rest (or rumble) in the sacred ambiguity” of what God is doing in your life? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

I’m sure about this: the one who started a good work in you will stay with you to complete the job by the day of Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 1:6 (CEB)

Julie, God can handle your anger. I’m not sure why you are angry with God who is with you always.
Certainly having to find a second lawyer and the fees for the service are difficult. I do think a conversation between the lawyer and h is a good idea. Continued prayers for your situation,

Ally, I join you in these prayers. Prayers for Marcy and for her healing. Julie, praying for a resolution for all issues with H. That you will feel God’s presence. Praying for your and Megan’s Safety and that God will soften H’s heart. For all, I pray safety and that better distribution will lead to more access to vaccine. Praying for a stimulus package that will help see us through. Blessings to all!

    Thank You, Lord

We often do not know or understand God’s will for us but we know He loves us and will never leave us. Faith and trust in Him is the only way- and life on this earth sure does challenge us. Prayers for all the UR family- prayers for all challenged and touched by this pandemic. Prayers for those who do not have adequate shelter on these upcoming very very cold days ahead- may God bless and protect us all.

I am hopeful that something, anything, positive could come from these issues in my life. I certainly feel growth happening in many ways. Robert, I do not believe it is ethical for the opposing counsel to contact an individual. I also know that h would not be truthful or honest. He tends to “remember” things in a manner that is positive for him. So no, my lawyer should not contact him and if that is what she indeed intends, I will have to find a new lawyer yet again. In my divorce from Megan’s father, despite custody, visitation and child support issues there was no cross contact whatsoever.
Prayers for Robert and Erich and their relationship.
Prayers for Lou and those in the midwest who are being plunged into record low temperatures, may all stay warm and safe
Prayers for Ally, David and Rachel. Prayers that Ally’s medications improve her eyesight. Prayers that David continues to respond to his medications and his mood continues to improve. Prayers that Rachel can manage her pain with shots only and can be released soon.
Prayers for Jill and her students, may they continue to cooperate in the teaching and learning process.
Please continue to pray that the hearing is resolved in my favor and that I begin to feel more comfortable with my new lawyer. I humbly thank you

Prayers for Ally’s church friend, Karen, who died of COVID. May God receive her and comfort her family of relatives as well as her church family.

“Rumble in sacred ambiguity” – I love this. I think God does also…He calls us to be present and to find Him, rest in Him in the midst of any circumstance. Oh how I have rumbled and God was near all along. His Presence took on many variations, and He kept asking me to trust Him.
Yes, God, this is very hard – but I will trust You.
Yes, God, if I could – I would change everything about this – but I will trust You.
Yes, God, I am exhausted – show me how to trust You.
God – I want to trust You, lead me in my un-trust…grow my trust.
    Yes, God, yes…
    Your will be done.
