New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Words of Hope During COVID-19

Jacqui King of Discipleship Ministries invites us to spend time with God, pray for others, and check on people during the COVID pandemic.

Today’s Reflection

The great mystery of God becoming one of us is God’s way of showing us just how much God desires our friendship. We experience the life and love God offers us when we open our hearts to a friendship without pretense or secrets. This sacred time is an invitation to a renewed friendship with the God who loves us—no matter who we are, where we come from, or what we have done or failed to do. Let’s embrace the season of Lent as a time to rekindle our relationship with God.

Today’s Scripture

So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.

The love, via people, He has placed in my life – I am open to receiving this comfort…from them…from Him. Experiencing His perfect peace and longing to share it with others, to share what He has done, how He has shepherded, His faithfulness. As the song says – “God, no He’s not done, writing my story.” May I trust the pen to His sure hand.
Father – I pray for the unbelievably vast number of health care workers that are stretched to the extreme. Thank You for those who have come out of retirement, leaving the safety of their homes and rush to those in need. Father – sustain them.

Prayers for all of you on this morning- I am thankful for this space and for those who regularly contribute – you all lift me up! Prayers especially for all of those who are fearful and feel alone during this crises in our world – we are not alone – God is with us. We are never alone. He will continue to see us through. Peace Hope and Love for all today.

No one understands each one of us better than God. Inspired, empowered, strengthened, and commissioned by God we do as the Spirit moves us to share God’s love. Thank You, Lord. Yes, Jill and Lou, the truth you write, exhibit, and spread is God’s love. Amen and Amen to your prayers. Thank You, Lord.

Witnessing the wonderful ways we are helping one another during this health and financial crisis reminds me that all are conduits of God’s love here among us. I intend to call my local animal shelter to inquire as to their needs. I am afraid they have been forgotten through this onslaught of human need.
I continue to pray for Ally and David, may they each recover from Covid 19 and may we hear good news from them soon.
Prayers for Jill, Larry and her students. May all stay safe and safely connected to one another drawing strength together.
Prayers for Lou and her family, may they remain safe both health wise and financially.
Prayers for Andrea, Lowell and Molly, SIL and grandson, may all stay safe, connected and sane through this isolation.
Prayers for April and her family, may all be safe, stay connected and continue to find solace in nature.
Prayers Prayers for Rick as he continues to study online. Prayers for his fellow healthcare workers, for safety and blessing
Prayers for Robert, his family and his church, may all remain safe and connected and close in heart through this time.
Prayers for those with Covid 19, for those who have lost loved ones from Covid 19, for the health care workers, first responders and all still working with the public, may they be safe and blessed.
Prayers and thank you UR, especially those behind the scenes making it possible for us to stay connected to one another and God

I am finding, in this challenging period we are in, that – more than anything else – being outside in nature helps me open to God’s love. Spring unfolds as always, oblivious to current events. Which makes me think of people living in war zones, where the environment is destroyed – prayers for their peace, reconciliation, health and healing.

When UR changed from Daily Reflections to New Every Morning, there was a period of time when I did not find comments, or how to comment. I recall the loss I felt, the sense of being disconnected from friends. You are all such a blessing. My prayers for you and every person you name in your prayers. Wishing all a blessed day.

I give thanks to God each morning, for the opportunities that God has given me. As i look outside and see the leaves getting bigger and brighter and the pleather of plants and flowers I see hope. I see a fresh canvas with much hope, despite all that is happening around the world. I have to be the Hope to those I encounter weather by phone email and text. Each day is a gift and my time with God through out the day is where i draw my strength, as well as here and in my classes and meetings. I’m looking forward to the Maundy Thursday worship service tomorrow evening via YouTube and Zoom. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, as well as those listed.

    Blessings,
    Rick

I have a plaque that says “Gods love is new every morning – with no memory of yesterdays shortcomings”
