New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

MY EXPERIENCE HAS confirmed that the most effective way to nourish our souls is not to depend on extraordinary moments of spiritual inspiration or dramatic changes in the patterns of our life. Instead, the foundation of spiritual nourishment is practicing the ordinary, time-tested disciplines of reflection on scripture, spiritual reading, prayer combined with what John Wesley called “spiritual conversation” with trusted friends in Christian community, and self-giving service to others. Our ministries depend upon what we do with our ordinary time in ordinary places.

—James A. Harnish, Extraordinary Ministry in Ordinary Time: An Invitation to Renewal for Pastors (Upper Room Books, 2020)

Today’s Question

Today’s Scripture

Fill us full every morning with your faithful love
so we can rejoice and celebrate our whole life long.

—Psalm 90:14 (CEB)

I read the UR Devotional along with the Bible verses the writer references. I ponder and gaze at the UR Sight Psaln and I read the UR New Every Morning post as well as the posts of this group of faithful Christians. I have learned much from your insightful words and observations and musings.

Yes, it is the ordinary, the trek through the valley, that guides us on the way that leads to God. It has been this trek that has led me this far and I can truthfully say, it has made a big difference. Plod on, keep your eyes on the prize. Search and you will find God.
Have my second oral surgery on Wednesday, and a wellness exam on the 10th. I’m hopeful to find help with a therapist at the wellness exam.
Thankful many things are going well, hope a sale occurs soon, that would be a big ego boost for Erich. His offerings will expand soon. I was delighted that he could ski yesterday, exercise does a lot to reduce stress.
Prayers for Julie’s hands and foot, her safety, and daughter Megan.
I too pray for Marcy’s health, well being, financial and insurance concerns.
Physical and emotional health to Andrea and Connie.
Lord, help Lou adjust to her new situation.
May Mary’s mission trip fulfill God’s direction and may she be safe.
Prayers for April, BJ, Betsy, Edy, Rick, Rusty and K.
Thank You, Lord for improving finances, Mikie’s successful heart surgery, and Your watchful eye over all creation.
