Today’s Reflection
Good Morning America viewers … marveled at my mother’s strength and grace after [my father’s] passing. Stories that include my family have been well received by the GMA audience. Folks are drawn to Mom’s humility, wisdom, and spirituality. I’ve been told countless times: “Your mother should write a book.” Well, just as the beautiful hymn that I have been blessed to hear Mom sing, says, . . . This is her story.

My grandmother did, but no one in my life does now.
I spent yesterday with Megan. I drove my car as I was hopinng to go through the drive through car wash and then clean out the inside. But it rained all day, so that didn’t happen. I only do this with Megan because it is difficult for me to do the vacuuming correctly due to my fingers. She is able to remove the mats and vacuum them on the stand provided for that purpose. We saw a movie and ran errands and got takeout. So a full and productive and fun day.
My friend who invited me to her church and into her small group. She is such a soft, quiet person. She listens so well and gives thoughtful responses. She is such a prayerful person, as well. She was there, time and again, to support me during mom’s struggle. She brought meals to my dad – taking note of what he especially liked. The way she facilitates our small group – it is just a warm, welcoming environment. Each member feels valued and heard.
The weekend went quickly, especially yesterday as it was one activity after another. My great niece turned 18 – and the weather held for us to have her party outside. I was able to have the review session last evening outdoors also. Unfortunately, only three students showed up. They are testing right now. I hope they can set their anxiety aside and work to their potential.
