New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Who has been perfectly loved by those who raised us? Our disappointments in how we were loved, and the wounds we bear as a result, invite our trust in the deeper love of God in whom we have our being. We respond to God’s gift of love by learning to better love ourselves and one another. We also respond by recognizing how love is being extended to us and by letting that incoming love nourish us.

Today’s Scripture

If I speak in the tongues of humans and of angels but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
—1 Corinthians 13:1-2 (NRSV)

As time goes by I think the search for questions to ask becomes more challenging and consequently the questions also become more challenging. I would have to venture that my parents helped on the route suggested by the question.
In an effort to respond to the posts made by Ally, Jill and Julie I wrote this
Prayers for Ally’s desire to be intimate with Jesus and hearing God’s voice in the silence. I thought of that same scripture passage, but you identified it better.
Prayers for Don, Becky, and Larry with Covid, Larry’s 90th birthday, the glass lantern arrival, dinner with a cancer surviving former student, a warm furnace, recovering well from surgery, being able to sit through nan entire church service.
Prayer for faith fortified Julie as she cares for h.
A very challenging task that you are handling so well. Glad you have Megan, church, supportive group, and amazing fortitude.
Bless all of you. Thank You, Lord.
