New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Saints whisper prayers
In night and morning hours
One on top of another, yearning
For face-to-face redemption
I need you—my sister, my brother—to speak it:
Restoration to my soul, and to my faith.

—Valerie Bridgeman Davis, “I Need You to Speak It,” in The Africana Worship Book (Year C), edited by Valerie Bridgeman Davis and Safiyah Fosua (Discipleship Resources, 2008)

Today’s Question

What do you most often pray for?
Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith.
—1 Thessalonians 3:10 (NLT)

Prayer for the Week

Abba, Help us to see beyond ourselves,
and see you in ALL of the world.
It is because of your goodness and
in response to your grace
that I pray . . . Amen.

I most often pray for my children, for my peace, and for many others in their need – including you all here.
A beautiful day yesterday -a quiet one for me- thinking of the good family man my father was and a good provider that has taken care of my mother all of these years since his passing. I hope all of the fathers here had a nice day and were celebrated. Prayers for all with hot temperatures again this week. I ask prayers for all three of my children who are traveling this week.
God’s peace be with you all.

I pray most often for others, family, friends, church, NEM, and their needs and joys. Thankful my daughter, fully vaccinated and boosted, is recovering from a short bout with Covid, her husband had very mild symptoms. My granddaughters are fine.
Making progress with what will be lay led worship beginning July 3rd. Hope we have our technical issues resolved by the end of July.
Chilly weather for a couple more days then warmer temps arrive. Our cat goes to a care shelter tonight so we can make a down and back trip to the Poconos. Items in storage coming home. Prayers for a safe trip.
Conversations with God, Book 1, is our next Bible study book. It was recommended by our Zoom pastor.
Will review past posts so I can catch up with NEM. Thank You, Lord.

I pray for NEM, family, friends as well as myself.
The plumber is supposedly coming today but as it is well past the time they said he would be here I am skeptical. I waited all day Saturday to no avail although they kept telling me he would show. I told them I expect a discount. Spent yesterday running many errands with Megan.
Prayers for Ally and David, may God sustain and provide for them and may the disability appeal be approved. Prayers for April and her loved one, may April find times of respite and renewal during her days. Prayers for Jill, may Roger be in remission from his diabetes so he has to endure no more testing. Prayers for Lou and her family, may her children be safe as they travel and may Lou find a doctor with a more timely appointment. Prayers for Rick and Scott. Prayers for Robert and his church members as each does their part to build up their church body, may his daughter and her family recover from Covid and remain safe from getting it again and may Robert and Erich have a safe and successful trip to the Poconos to retrieve their belongings.

In today’s OT reading, Elisha tells his mentor, the prophet Elijah, that He wants to be like him: inherit a double portion of his spirit. I tend to pray for things I or someone else needs, for my family and friends. I do ask the Lord to help me to be like Jesus. Perhaps not as often as I should. Lord, may I inherit a double portion of the Your Spirit.
Robert, prayers for your safe journey to the Poconos and for your church. Prayers for your daughter and her family as they recover from Covid. Jill, may Roger’s numbers show good control of his diabetes. April, prayers continue as you care for your loved one. Julie, may the plumbing issues be resolved. Prayers continue for you as you deal with H. Lou, I hope you can get a sooner appointment and the answers you need. Prayers for Rick and Scott. Thank You Lord, for my NEM friends. Blessings to all.

I pray for wisdom and discernment as I walk alongside dad. I pray the same prayer for future conversations and interactions with my teammates as she wrestles with her new normal without her mom. I pray for concerns listed here, for my friend and her daughter (hopefully finishing up intense counseling this week and returning home) and I pray for members of the cancer support group. These are my most consistent prayerful intentions.
My phone died yesterday and was not able to be revived. Luckily today, a replacement was relatively easily attained – only about an hour in the phone store. Dad and I got a round of golf in. The vet is decreasing Roger’s insulin one unit and I will test him again in a month. Hopefully on a much quieter day – just the two of us here. A tennis match this evening.
My sister and I are spending the day together tomorrow. Walking on her favorite trail and then lunch and a bike ride. Going to be very warm, but both activities will be in the shade – so hopefully manageable.
