New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Church planting is hard work. When you are in the middle of what is going on in the church plant, it is exciting for the most part but frightening at the same time, just like riding a roller coaster. It brings unspeakable joy, especially when changes are happening in the lives of people and even greater joy when the collective work of the church brings about transformation in the community and society in a powerful way. … Although it can be hard to start a new church, [remember:] You don’t have to live in fear of failure or rejection, because no matter what happens, you’re never, ever in this alone.

Prayer for the Week

Holy God, thank you for the opportunity to plant a new faith community. Help me to have wisdom and discernment as I develop relationships with the people in this community. Guide me to stay close to you through prayer and Bible study and to love the people who cross my path. Amen.

I experience much joy in my faith community. I feel my fellow church members “get” me.

Had to think about this question.. There are times when I find joy, the connection is best when the joy I feel fits with the joy of others. Many people do not have a connection to another culture, especially a non- European one. As a relative new comer, have only been here in NH four years, and having gone through Covid, there’s a gap. Not being able to find, but a single family home definitely is a factor as well.
Only 9 people in person, two on Zoom yesterday. No children. Yet, somehow this church continues. Thank You, Lord.
