New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The first step of Centering Prayer is to choose a sacred word that will become the focus of our time with God. … During prayer, when we begin to feel pulled off-center by worries or distractions, the sacred word will gently guide us back. … Any word that draws our attention to God is suitable … Abba, Jesus, Emmanuel, Holy Spirit, Creator, faith, love, hope, trust, calm, silence, or shalom.

Prayer for the Week

Gracious God
whose love encircles all,
You are the one in whom I live
and move and have my being.
Thank you for the moments
when I see you most clearly.
I am sorry for the times I have turned away
from your loving presence.
With hope I look toward the new day to come,
heart aflame with your love and grace.
I am grateful that you are with me
every moment of every day.

Silent before God I feel reverent and thankful. I’m still functioning, able to do things, enjoyed a wonderful walk in the woods down to pond with beavers yesterday. A whole array of new trails are possible. Did the final tweak of the message for Sunday’s worship. Very thankful that there’s help from Discipleship Worship UMC, there’s only a smidgeon from me. Wonderful weather. Playoff baseball tonight. Prayers for NEM family.

    Awed, insignicant yet loved.
More scammers responding to ad for boat. I hope an actual buyer surfaces within the next two months as that is how long the ad remains on the website.
Prayers for Ally and David, for health and finances. Prayers for Jill as she patiently tutors her students. Prayers for Robert as he prepares to give the message on Sunday, may God open the congregation’s ears and hearts.
