New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I can recognize the divine flame easily in my children; they so transparently bear the image of God as they display holiness from within and without. It is harder for me to remember that I too carry the divine flame. I may not leap with my body, but my heart leaps with joy when I encounter the presence of the Lord. As I celebrate the spark in my children, I am learning to celebrate and nurture it within me.

Today’s Scripture

God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Prayer for the Week

May I be a river, free of attachments, flowing lavishly and abundantly through the day, moving with your currents, and bringing life and refreshment to my children. Amen.

My mistake erased my comments! Ugh! Will see how NEM is doing and try again. Blessings!

Able to love, show compassion, care for others, be God’s hands and feet are some of the God-like attributes we have since we are made in God’s image. Learned reading NEM posts that a new Methodist sect now exists. That is sad news. H needs a lot of help, meds especially. Perhaps that is why he is difficult to deal with. Mediating events in FL from OH is also a challenge, Prayers for health, job, and disability issues at Ally&David’s. Hopeful for positive news. Nice way for the school year to end, Jill, fewer classes, exams done. Glad you see nature in bloom at the end of your morning run. Julie, hope your healing continues despite added responsibilities. Meeting the district superintendent tonight re concerns for the future of CCUMC. Need ways to increase ministry that bring more support. I think a lot of people feel a bit disconnected. A big national issue has our attention with the Supreme Court leak. Resolving that is a huge challenge. The needs of people around the world, the war in Ukraine, and global warming . Thank You, Lord.

It challenges me to be compassionate and kind even when I am not feeling so. It is why I am helping h and trying to do so with patience.
Robert, h has been nasty and difficult for the entirety of our relationship. He has been abusive towards both Megan and I. He has mellowed somewhat since his diagnosis with dementia. It is the fact of how he treated us for so long and how nasty he was that makes it difficult to be patient and kind now. But with God’s help I try.
Prayers for Ally’s job search, for Jill’s students, and for Robert’s church.

Being made in His image means a wealth of possibility. With this truth and the example set by His Son – we have a high bar at which to aim. Lots of potential and a boundless ceiling. I pray I continue moving in the right direction, without periods of stagnancy.
Rain moving in – and while I didn’t want to mow after dinner – that is exactly what I did. Otherwise I would regret it big time come Saturday afternoon when the rain stops and my grass had inched higher. I will hope to fertilize once the rain ceases.
Becky, Don and dad are heading home tomorrow. It will take them 2 days to get here. Dad and I have a tee time for Sunday at noon. Not as warm as we initially thought, but the sun should be out. Temps are to get progressively better next week – looking forward to it. Haven’t yet moved my little heater out of my tv room space just yet.
Tennis begins next week. I am playing on 4 teams – Monday through Thursday evenings. It is hectic until school ends. But I do enjoy the competition.
Students began testing yesterday and today – in history. Tomorrow afternoon is the first part of the math exam, the second part is Monday morning. One more review session scheduled for Saturday morning.
Hoping to hear from Ally – David’s results and her progress in job search. Julie – praying for patience for you as you assist h.
