Today’s Reflection
I know that God is always with me, but there’s something special about having a particular place to meet together. As I look around the familiar [living] room, I am reminded of both the joy and the heartache that have dwelled within these walls.
This is the welcoming place that our family called home after living in twenty-six other places while my husband, Larry, served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. It is where I came to help heal my broken heart after Larry died at age eighty-one.
This is the place where laughter and music have filled the rooms during holiday gatherings with family and friends. It is also where the floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina swallowed up the entire first floor, destroying every memento and home
furnishing in its muddy grasp.
Today in the solitude of this refurbished room, I play the piano and sing.

Today’s Scripture
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.

Prayer for the Week
Dear God, this week we thank you for mothers and other people who have shown us the value of faith and singing songs of praise to you. Help us to pass on the lessons they have taught us and to demonstrate grace toward others. Amen.

The “four seasons” room, where I can view the back yard and wild life and the sunrise, etc.. The cats mostly leave me alone here because they too are busy looking for critters out the windows. I leave myBible and The Disciplines out here because this is my preferred place. The laptop travels out here easily.
My spot at the kitchen table. I read the Bible and the Upper Room publicaations I have subscribed to. It used to be my Florida Room which is floor to ceiling windows but the Tonkinese kitties we had before the rescues we have now took possession and ruined it as they had finicky stomaches, and often threwup.
Megan was off yesterday and she steam cleaned the dog area and her bathroom. He bathroom is very small and tends to be moldy.
I want to answer yesterday’s question first: I am fortunate to have friends and family who extend grace and love. My cousin who is the same age as me has been my companion and friend my whole life. She is dear To me and like a sister. Like Julie’s grandmother, my grandmother embodied these attributes and demonstrated them them to all in her life. I also have some dear friends who are embody these things.
Re: today’s question: my den is where I have my quiet time and where I listen to music and read. The window faces east and the morning light comes in. It is a pleasant and peaceful spot to meet God.
Robert, thank you for tip about treating a callous. Will tell David about it.
