Today’s Reflection
Everyone is welcome in the house of God, but not all behaviors are welcome. Everyone is welcome, and for the sake of safety and dignity, we set boundaries for how to be together respectfully. However, it is important to differentiate the actions and expressions that are really harmful from those that are idiosyncratic, unusual, or even uncomfortable to those unused to accommodating them but are ultimately the sign to an observant faith community of the compassion of an all-embracing Christ.

Prayer for the Week
Lord, even though I walk through lonely and dark times, I will fear nothing, because you are with me; your guidance and authority comfort me. (Adapted from Psalm 23:4)

The church I attend is inclusive as are almost all of the churches of our district and conference. That is to say the UMC of New England. God is LOVE and the well known passage from I Corinthians 13 explains LOVE.
Science also helps us understand genetics. We are made in God’s image. Open hearts, open minds, open doors
profess, proclaim , and share God’s LOVE to all. Thank You, Lord.
I find it very hard to post later in the day, early morning Quiet Time is a firm habit. I will try again later today.
Back again, lots of good news from NEM. New windows in at Julie’s, trash clean out conducted, help from Parkinson’s support group, a trip to Phipps; Jill, a successful week at school despite many demands, golfing with Dad, tennis without pain; help for Ally and David’s needs and concerns.
Thankful for your prayers. Progress at church, had 16 at worship, two people we have not seen for a while.
Despite growing up in an easy gun access state. During my times there, people did not walk around with guns unless they were going or coming from hunting. I find it unnerving to learn of people bringing gins to church even after a shooting at a synagogue in town. Situations help change our minds, but at the moment the only guns I would support would be at entrances to the property and only when there was a sense that danger was possible.
Thankful I made it on here again today and learned how things are going. Prayers for all of you, your needs and concerns, and thankful for the joys you also experience.ro
I feel like my church is very warm and welcoming. It feels like a safe space and newcomers are greeted well. That was certainly my experience.
A wonderful morning of worship and good preaching. A 10 week study of James begun. Should be a good Fall series taking us up to the holidays.
Very warm and comfortable here, before rain moves in this evening. Our first “combo” match this evening and it is against the team I played with this summer and went to state with. Only a handful are playing, but I hope to see a few of them tonight, hopefully across the net from me. I am supposed to golf with one of them in a few weeks – hope we can firm up plans if she is here tonight.
The Browns “Browned” again today, losing in typical, rip the fans’ hearts out fashion.
