New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The practice of “yes and no” is the practice of acknowledging our authentic desires as they arise out of compassion for ourselves and others. . . .

“Mindfulness of speech” is another way to describe this practice of “yes and no.” To be spiritually mindful of our speech is to speak from a place of compassionate relationship. So often when people say, “I’ll call you,” it’s simply a mindless habit. We say what we were taught was “nice” or what we hope might happen, or we want to not hurt the person. However, when we bring our awareness to what we say, we utter only those things that are true, those things we authentically wish to say. This practice creates a relational space that is truly loving and real and allows for the flourishing of the beloved community

There have been and I expect there will be times when speaking authentically will be tough or impossible since I am speaking to someone with mental health issues. Has there been improvement? YES! Do I hope , work for more? Absolutely. Actions taken prove this. I pray for more.
Thankfully, our plan has not been stopped, interrupted, but continues to make progress despite news that was taken rather hard. Thank You. Lord.

Continued prayers, Robert! 🙏🙏 May Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior give you all the strength you need. May God help all of us with mental health issues! You are a godsend to this soul, whether they realize it or not! Sending Love and prayers your way. 💖🙏

I am having trouble with a person who attends my church and is also part of the grief group a church friend and I started. She is condescending and dismissive to me. My friend has implored me to keep the peace. I do not know how best to proceed but increasingly feel that I must say something. She is not acting as I believe a follower of Christ is called to act.

There appears to be many who claim to be Christians who seem unable to understand that Jesus preached LOVE for ALL of us, dear Julie. I will pray for you as you weigh your options with this situation and you will always have my support! Sending Love, (((Hugs))) and prayers to you! 💞🙏💞🙏

I pray for you daily, dear Marcy. So good to hear from you!

I do not speak authentically often enough. I think I fear the reaction of others. It is better to speak truth. It is hard to do. It should be easy to speak truth. To be mindful is to be in the present. I ask God to help me to be aware of God’s presence and help me to be proactive in what God wants me to do. There are times I don’t share authentically with those I have close relationships with. Robert, it is good to hear that progress continues. Julie, as you seek God’s wisdom, do what is best for your spiritual wellbeing.

Ally, I am in agreement with your post and feel I could write a “book length” reply! It seems truth is hard to find if one relies on “reporting” these days! Although I generally prefer to avoid politics in conjunction with faith, many policies are hitting a lot of us personally. I am among those who rely on Social Security, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP and subsidized housing. Anyway, I extend my prayers to include you and wish you well! 🙏🙏🙏
