I remember the two times I was made aware of God’s presence. I was still, quiet, motionless. Presence was the focus, there were no words or thoughts communicated. God is with us always whether we perceive or not. Thank You, Lord. You sustain me. I live because of You.
I imagine his arms surrounding me and I remain open and perceptive and receptive. I then feel calmer and I perceive his love surrounding me and supporting me.
My quiet time early in the morning is such a time of joy, hope and peace. I usually start with meta prayers for family and myself. Then I just enjoy the warmth of our gas fireplace (we live in a cold climate), watch the sunrise reflect colors onto the mountains and express gratitude. These practices ground me for what can be a challenging day with a spouse who has chronic pain and depression.
