Today’s Reflection
We find Jesus in the all-too-human “traditions” of oppression, suffering, and need. “Yes,” Jesus says through the parable [of the sheep and goats in Matthew 5:31-46]. “I am found beyond the walls of the church; beyond religious programs; beyond rituals, rites, and institutions. Wherever people hunger and thirst, I hunger and thirst. I am out there with the people. I am out there with creation that groans.”
—Elaine A. Heath, God Unbound: Wisdom from Galatians for the Anxious Church (Upper Room Books, 2016)

Prayer for the Week
Holy God, thank you for the many expressions of church that are available to us today. Help us remember that we are your beloved children. Guide us to love one another and to remain faithful to you through prayer and other spiritual practices. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Where is Jesus not to be found? At any moment, in any place, Jesus can be experienced. Being always ready is a necessity. There are moments when I witness Jesus in my self proclaimed unbeliever son. His actions speak far better than words. Thank You, Lord.
I try to see Jesus in every person I meet or interact with. Jesus is everywhere and in everyone. I pray that people see Jesus through me and my actions.
Life moves forward. If you keep looking back, you won’t be able to see where you’re.
