New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

To avoid getting lost, I always look for clues that other walkers have left behind them. These signs tell me that I am on the right path. In the same way, other Christian believers have marked out particular practices as cues that help me find my way to God. They point me toward well-traveled pathways where I can cultivate a deeper love, knowledge, and service of God and neighbor.

—Thomas R. Hawkins, Every Step a Prayer: Walking as Spiritual Practice (Upper Room Books, 2016)

Today’s Scripture

Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
—Hebrews 10:24-25 (NRSV)

Can only think of my friend’s parents. They took me to church with them when I was best friends with their daughter.
Megan and I spent the day yesterday running errands. We need a new refrigerator, but the selection is minimal due to the supply chain issues. My area is now buried under more than six inches of snow and more is falling. Megan is already wondering how to fill her days as she had a job that was frenetic. I have been giving her ideas of things to do and one day we will look some more for a refrigerator.
Prayers for Ally, David, Jeremy, and Roger, may they all expereince healing. Prayers for Robert, may God give him the words to speak during his next message to his congregation. I am still feeling sore and trying to recouperate. My stomach is still sometimes queasy and my appetitie is still not great.
Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.

This site and bible study help me on my faith journey.. A new refrigerator is needed here too, it works, but produces unneeded ice in the freezer. Have other issues that need addressing.
It’s snowing hard, has been for a while, and is expected to last all day. Skiing and snowshoeing should greatly improve as long as temps stay below freezing and there is no rain. Progres with Bible study book on Proverbs, hope to do more to prepare the next message. A new church directory is forthcoming. Have has great help from two modelers with plans for a model of East Swanton station. Prayers for the many issues faced by Julie and Megan David&Ally, Jill and Larry. and two dear pets, Roger and Jeremy. The mother of a church member passed away over the weekend. She had fallen, broken her femur, had dementia. Reminded me of Mom’s passing. FT with my daughter, granddaughters yesterday, Willa’s birthday tomorrow, will FT again. Stay safe and warm. Thank You, Lord.

Being a part of the cancer support groups has been so meaningful to me. In a much broader sense, it is about relying on and trusting God in all circumstances and hardships – whether related to cancer or not. Their perseverance is remarkable and a massive encouragement to me.
Got about 13 inches of snow here, as we were upgraded to a winter storm warning. I was out shoveling snow this afternoon, and also shoveling and pushing out a stranded SUV a few houses down. I was ready to quit about halfway through, but just kept going. Surprise of all surprises, the snow plow came through around 1:30 – I didn’t think it would be through until overnight. Luckily, I had started at the base of my driveway. So – I cleared it a second time and am confident that I can now make it out for school tomorrow. Initially thought school might be cancelled, but with the snow plow making it to neighborhood streets – I now think we will be in. However – it is doubtful sidewalks will be cleared and this has caused school to be closed in the past. We will see.
